For Temporal: You guys do get some great talent, it's just a shame the setup is the way it is. Longer sets and a different target crowd would really help

Set times are not set in stone. If enough people support the idea of longer sets, we have no problem with lengthening the trance headliner set lengths to 2 hours each. The only problem with this is that we would have to cut out the local closing the main room...

my appologies to the locals since many of them are great...but kyau & albert have never been to canada, and they have a lot of fans here! they should definitely receive a proper set time...my proposal would be:

johan gielen - 1:30-3:30
Kyau & Albert - 3:30-close

i don't think many ppl would argue with wanting those times.

In general, that is the number they stuff into one room. Short sets, nobody left by 4am when they tend to schedule the main dj's.

As for the moran who quoted me: learn to interpret the english language, or at least go to some of these parties on your own to understand why it gives a bad impression to the dj's.
Never said I had a problem with younger people partying, just from my experience destiny raves have extremely underage people who do not represent the city well and clear out before the headliners even come on. They have literally caused a couple dj's I contact to not schedule returns to Toronto.

As well, you get NOTHING from 1.5 hours of music, you don't get to hear what the DJ is all about.

MORAN? hahahaha learn to type English before telling me how to interpret it. it's not poetry. MORAN.

Bad impression to dj's? wtf?

I'm just going to stop right there.

I am looking forward to this destiny party.

there are only two problemsI have with the docks.

1) coat check
2) the sound.
[sorry NYE was quite awful, but whatever i'm coming back for more]

If like New Years Eve this will be my second time to a Desting & Temporal Rhythm event and my last. Come on seriously why they have international djs only get to spin for an hour and a half. I have nothing against the canadian talent at all but wtf. Cosmic Gate on NYE was killing then finish so fast i was just getting in the music. But then we had Jelo for 6 hours wtf, eh don't get me wrong he was good.
Any other event would take advantage and have the international dj spin for at least 2 or 3 hours. Easy fix less djs longer set times like guvernment.

Yes man i agree and i have only been to one destiny event so far.

When do tickets go on sale?

And since it's the TA anniversary party...do TAs get free entrance if they've joined before a certain date?

Posted by djbruuen on Jan-04-2007 06:07:

just a question, could anyone type how to phonetically pronounce 'kyau' i always think i'm saying it wrong.

CANT WAIT !

Posted by m2j on Jan-04-2007 07:10:

It's all about Aquasky for me.
and the fact that they'll be playing both a Breaks set and a DnB set seals the deal.

It'll be cool to see KvA too.

Destiny is awesome. They always have diverse sounds in each room, AND most importantly, they bring fresh talent to the city that have never been here before or hardly come around. (orkidea, adam sheridan, KvA, Dumonde etc. etc.)
You guys fuckin rock.

I support this idea.

In fact, if all the headliners could have 2hr sets, it would be great... especially Aquasky for their breaks set.

do the prices vary on how long a dj plays....i mean, if they were to play at least 3 hours each they would get more money, or, if they played shorter, they get less money...either way, lets just try to get them to play long, and make it a memorable first appearence in toronto for KvA

Posted by darouge11 on Jan-04-2007 19:24:

It depends. Most djs specifiy they want to play for a minimum of 1.5 to a max of 3 hours. For the most part squeezing say a 4 hour set out of a headliner doesn't affect the price. Now if you start asking for sets longer than that, it really depends on how good of a deal the promoter negotiates.

Posted by darouge11 on Jan-05-2007 01:48:

well either way, i rather just see a back 2 back 6 hours set with gielen and kyau vs albert in the main room...keep trance in main room :P

i find it quiet the opposite, i was not a fan of last years line up, but think this years is amazing (minus the whole - raver 16+ - ) atmosphere of destiny events.

HI EVERYONE!!

I'll be returning from Australia about 2 weeks before this!!!
So it'll be a nice welcome home party

I saw Johan and got to hang out with him a bit just last month here in Melbourne.
And when I arrived last year, I got to spend the day and night with Ralph and Albert while the promoters took them, me and a few others around to see the sights of Sydney.
It's going to be funny to catch up with them in T.O.

Can't wait to party with the TOTA again. It's been along time
