when u compare him to other people of the same genre u can start to see how good he really is

Haha, to each their own I guess. You're actually the first person I've met who doesn't like that track. The percussion thing they do at the beginning of the video is cute, but when it cuts out and that riff drops in afterwards... sex.

EDIT: And yeah, Sexyback is quite different. The first time I heard it I actually thought it was Benassi.

So I looked up Sexy Back...Another fail. Not a fan.

Although 95% of pop is shit there are some good names in it for me: Celine Dion, Roxette, Anastacia, Bryan Adams, Tory Amos, Pet Shop Boys, ABBA, Ace Of Base, Dido, Elton Joh, Robbie Williams, Savage Garden, George Michael, E-Type, Bonnie Tyler, Cher, Duran Duran, Madonna, Tina Turner, Vacuuum, Simply Red,... Why is pop necessarily shit and "totally evil"? Pop is music like all other music, there is great pop and there is horrible pop.

the pop i thought this thread was refering to was the simple but cathcy pop that eats your brain and bug you the whole summer kinda pop.
Offcourse there's good pop too.

we've just moved house & it was a shell so I had to paint the whole lot in about 3 weeks with just an old MW/LW radio player to keep me company, so i had our local bbc radio station on (derby) which isn't that bad chat-wise, guess it's cos they're locals, but their playlist is dictated by the main bbc playlists, which meant this song every hour, plus james morrison, scissor sisters, nerina pallot (yes that's her name) Gnarls Berkley & another song I forget the name of.

Thank you. I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one that despised this song.

I have to listen to goddamn awful pop music for 40 hours a week as part of my job. Unfortunately I have no control over what we have to listen to.

They used to play Take A Chance by The Magic Numbers which I liked, and they played Chris Lake - Changes today, which reminds me of the early 90's dance music I used to enjoy. Pretty good. But the winner of all winners was when Atlantic Ocean - Waterfall was played today. Although I wouldn't really call it pop because I grew up with this tunage!


Timberlake can go fuck himself though.

Yes, that's the kind of pop I was referring to. I am well aware that there is good pop out there, but it is somewhat few and far between.
