You Can Sing Sod All
(To the tune of Wonderwall)

Today is gonna be the day that we're gonna sing a song for you.
By now you should've somehow realized that's what we're here to do.
And I don't believe that anybody sings as bad as you.

AUSSIE CONVICTS
Backbeat, the word is on the street that you can't even write a song
I'm sure, you've heard it all before, but c'mon Aussies prove us wrong
'Cos I don't believe that anybody's quite as thick as you

AUSSIE CONVICTS
The "oh aah" song you sing for Glenn is so sad
And "Warney Warney Warney" is just as bad
There are many songs that I would like to hear from you
But you don't know how, (don't know how)
'Cos maybe, (maybe) you'll never find a song to play me, (play me)
'Cos after all, YOU CAN SING SOD ALL!

Ball and Chain
There is a house in New Orleans, They call the Rising Sun
It's been the ruin of many a poor boy, oh Lord I know I'm one
One foot on the platform, one foot on the train
I'm going back to New Orleans, to my ball and chain
1,2,
Ball and Chain! Ball and Chain!
We came here with Backpacks you with Ball and Chain
Ball and Chain! Ball and Chain!
We came here with Backpacks you with Ball and Chain.

Convict Colony
(To the tune of "Yellow Submarine")
In the town where I was born, there lived a man who was a thief
And he told me of his life, stealing bread and shagging sheep.
So they put him in the nick, and then a magistrate he went to see
He said "put him on a ship, to the convict colony"
You all live in a convict colony, a convict colony, a convict colony
You all live in a convict colony, a convict colony, a convict colony

Ponting is the captain
Of the Aussie cricket team
But once the match is over
He is a gay drag queen

Pontings special friend
Is a man called Glenn McGrath
Youll see them holding hands
At the Sydney Mardi Gras

Awesome, good find

Well according to wikipedia the international cricket councal is based in the middle east along with a stadium that hosted more international games than any other. so if it takes some american kid and american website (wikipedia) to point out that you dont know what you are talking about with cricket then so be it.

the ICC is based in Dubai because of taxation reasons, no other. They moved there from London a couple of years ago.

And the stadium (I'm guessing you mean) is Sharjah, which has hosted a grand total of.............. 3(?) tests, no major tournaments so is hardly a major stadium.
Not to mention there are no Middle Eastern test teams
And the only reason Sharjah has hosted so many ODI's (which aren't really *that* important) is because Sharjah was the only stadium in the region suitable to host it so it hosted all the matches. In other cricketing countries there are multiple suitable grounds so the matches are shared around rather than being concentrated in one stadium.

And just out of interest I looked up the MCG, which has hosted about 220 matches, so your sweeping statement of it hgaving hosted "the most matches of any stadium" is also wrong.

And then when you look at the number of member nations in the Middle East, you can clearly see they are somewhat outnumbered

Course, the fun thing about Wikipedia is anyone can edit it.
Would be amusing to tell the world the ICC is based in Mongolia or something and see if anyone believes it
Have all these tourists bumbling around the steppes looking for the Don Bradman gladiator pit of cricket where they used to feed children to marmosets in the 1500's

Sweet Dream - If you could kindly refrain from sending me abusive PM's that would be much appreciated.

If you understood cricket you would understand why tests are more important than ODI's.

If you understood maths you'd also understand why 220 matches is more than 202 matches.

If you understood anything about anything you would realise that the 1.5 billion or so south asians who apparently prefer one day cricket mean more than a few million test cricet loving Australians.

Not surprised after reading articles like these why you australians appear to be so racist and dirisive of 'brown skinned' people.

cricket doesn't appear to be the gentlemans game people portray it as.

let's get some things right here. Every country has racist people, but the aussies & the english actively work hard to stamp it out. Sure there'll be odd instances but they're very isolated & frowned upon by "normal" people.

As an england fan, we have asian-descent in a lot of our cricketers, I don't care whatever skin colour or background players have, yet Sajid Mahmood (Born in pakistan but moved to england at 6 months) was having chants last summer of "scum" "traitor" and "white boy" Everytime anything happens against pakistan in cricket, they call the race card & it's wrong. The sub-continent (which is india, sri lanka, pakistan & bangladesh) are very good at wielding political powers. Rather than sending abusive pms (for which you'll be out of here quicker than you got in) try to actually debate with fact & not opinion fueled by personal views.

Posted by Trance Nutter on Jan-08-2007 23:52:

see, heres the thing you just don't get.
Popularity doesn't necessarily mean that its more important.
More important for bringing in money, yes. More important as the game, no.

How about this, test cricket has been around for over 100 years. ODI's have been around for about 30. Tests ARE cricket.

I find it funny that you obviously care so much about the internet you will gladly waste your time reading and researching about a topic which you have no understanding to win an argument against people who are actually passionate about the game.

by all means please, call me a racist again, I like a good laugh

That is what I actually did, I attempted to respond to the abuse the racist trance nutter had given me in private for the sake of everyone but clearly he wants everyone to know what a massive racist he is.

excuse me? Now you're just lying and trying to slander me. I have sent you no pm's. And Swamper or Coup will be able to verify that with logs of the pm's that have been sent.

Thats it, this is not funny anymore. I am complaining to the mods. I am NOT going to put up with you outright lying about me and calling me a racist. I was going to give you one more chance, but this is NOT right.
