I have a friend that is ADDICTED to that show!

I can't believe I didn't come up with this thread because I've been hooked on this show for the past 6 weeks.

LOL.. but uhh I'd probably do her too

Marcel has a big ego, (and can't rap, I laughed my ass off when he did), but he does get a lot of shit on the show. I think the producers made it out to be worse than it is for ratings sake.

I've been gunnin for Sam to win the cometition but after seeing the latest episode I think it's anyone's game.

I think everyone of the last four have had their good shows and bad shows, some more good than others. Honestly I think if everyone brings their A game that it could be a close match.

Definitely can't wait for the finale.

I'm glad Betty got booted out of the competition, early. She doesn't have the experience - nonetheless, she doesn't even have the basics down to be an ordinary chef.

Cliff never had the personality for the trade. In team competitions, he's the most obnoxious a'hole on the planet. Nonetheless, in all his team competitions, he was on the losing team, and blamed the rest of the team, for the failure stating "there's no way I'm going home - choose them."

I give Marcel a lot of credit, for putting up with a lot of crap from everyone else, and still able to maintain focus on the competition. It seems as though everyone else need to chill out, because they're all (except for Elia) too easily bothered by Marcel's petty remarks.

Ilan has issues, and is practically fixated with hatred for Marcel. Get a grip!

Elia has no direct issues with anyone, besides Cliff in team competitions, because again, Cliff is not a cooperative team player.

Interesting episode, last night. I was shocked to see Elia shave her head. However, I'm still attracted to her, after she had done that. Cliff got booted out of the competition, for manhandling Marcel on the floor. I don't know wtf he was thinking. That whole segment was kinda gay, but whatever.

Anyway, 'til next week...

i think Marcel and Ilan are going to end up having sex in the kenmore kitchen during a quickfire challeng. Marcel is going to pour foam on Ilans ass and eat it.

Posted by MunkyAngel on Jan-18-2007 19:43:

lol! did you notice last night was the first time marcel did not do foam?

cliff is super dumb to fuck up like that in the end, but like the judges said they didn't like his dish and most likely he would have been the one to go.

next week finale!!!

Marcel didn't use foam last week, either. He has gotten flamed the last two episodes, for his 'signature' foam dishes, as a wake-up call. @ 'signature'

Cliff...what can I say...dumbass. As said before, he would've gone home, regardless.

Yeah, yet it's not going to be in the Kenmore Kitchen - they're both going to Hawaii.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn!!!

Elia and Sam - DONE!

Ilan and Marcel...finals?

Posted by Ed G on Jan-25-2007 04:55:

My girl thinks that Bravo sold Sam and Elia out to promote the rivalry between Marcel and Ilan.

I doubt that.

Maybe the rivalry cranked Marcel and Ilan up a little, and they used the extra juice to win.

I bout shit when I heard Marcel was doing another foam. Foam just doesn't sound appealing.

Elia needs to grow up. All the whining about Marcel's conduct in the kitchen is no excuse. She made herself look like an ass, in front of the judges.

Yeah about Elia. My girlfriend and I agree that Elia folded. She really did screw the pooch when she started that shit just as the judges were getting ready to announce the results. Bad form. Poor girl. I'd still fuck her though, so she's not actually a loser.

Ooooooooh yeaaaaaaaah.

Ya, it was funny at the end when they are trying to come up with some accusation against Marcel. They could only come up with something that is very common in any kitchen, and that was it. Then Collicchio said he basically doesn't give a shit about behavior. Elia initially was hesitant about doing it, but Ilan and Sam seemed to really push it on her, which ended up making her look bad. It all makes for great TV. I'd say though that the Saffron-cocunut dish sounded really good. Never experienced a dessert dish with saffron, it being my favorite spice.

I too was thinking about the foam on Marcel's dish and why he'd be using it after getting so much shit for the redundancy of it before. I think his dishes though had the best presentation out of them all. I can't even remember much about any of Sam's two dishes to say anything. I think Elia did well, but like the judges said, she didn't follow the direction of keeping the dish Hawaiian. I don't know, it's hard to really know their dishes just by only seeing it on TV....

Everyone's too busy, trying to flame Marcel out of the competition. Yet, he's remained focused, and is now in the finals. His presentations are near-perfect in every competition, and he made a huge step in his dishes, this week. Personally, I hope he wins.

All in all - Padma...

Ya. I give a lot of credit to him. A lot of people would have let all the critisism and hatred, yes I say hatred, get into their heads and allow them to screw up how well they preform. Not only has he survived everybody except Ilan, he's had to do it in a purley negative atmosphere all directed at him. Most people would crack.

Posted by OurManFlint on Jan-26-2007 01:35:

I was reading some of the comments on the blogs on Bravo, and it seems as if a lot of people wanted Sam to go on because he consistantly presented good dishes and placed with the winners. The stupidest thing about that approach is an individual or a team never win championships because they have the best record. In any competition, it's not how many times you win, but when you win. Sam didn't win when it mattered. Makes me think of the Seattle Mariners team a couple of years ago, when they tied the record for all-time regular season wins, and yet they didn't make it to the AL Championship. Winning doesn't mean shit unless you win when it counts. According to those people, maybe we should not have tournaments and championships and just give the winners trophy to the team or individual with the best record. I don't think a lot of people realize what a cometition is, and that each show is a competition, everybody starts off with a clean slate at the beginning of the show, despite their previous preformance.

To put it in a real world perspective, what if a chef who owned a restaurant consistantly pleased his/her guests, but recieved bad marks from the one night that a food critic came to the restaurant and the chef had an off night. Your track record doesn't matter when it actually comes time to preform. Sorry, long-winded post, but I hate the fact that people don't understand what a copetition is.

Also, I read a girl threw a bottle or something at Marcel in a Las Vegas nighclub and he had to get stitches just recently. That's fucked up.

I agree totally. I really like Sam, he's very together. Fact is though, he lost it in Hawaii. He was cazy nervous through the whole round and it cost him. The rivalry between the Marcel and Ilan kept them focused.

Posted by EXTREMUM on Jan-26-2007 03:29:

Sam dropped the ball, bigtime. Tom made a valid point - HE DIDN'T COOK ANYTHING, for the last round. Basically, he put together a half-assed entree, with a good dessert. Elia made a dish too distant from Hawaiian culture. Ilan and Marcel followed the routine very well.

I literally LOL'd, when the judges were and from left to right, making Ilan and Elia look very childish fools, attempting to accuse Marcel of misconduct throughout the competition. Elia couldn't even get the words out (uhh, umm, uhh there were things done in the kitchen - there are people in this competition that disrespect food...) - omg, she was so lost.

My Top Chef is this hottie...

I want her to cook for me!

Okay she's not on the show but she's an amazing cook!

<--- Obsessed and already getting anxious about the final...

Marcel is my favorite but I predicted Elia and Sam in the final... boy was I 100% wrong, and boy am I glad about Marcel!! I didn't even NOTICE Ilan until episode 8 or so, he was just so out of the way and unremarkable. Marcel made himself and his food noticed right away, though. I'm really really really nervous about who will win... Marcel deserves it for track record BUT as OMF correctly said... it's about who keeps it together and pulls it off with a bang next week!!!

From the preview, it sounded like the judges weren't pleased with next week's dishes.... should be a fucking good ep...

I'm also a huge foodie so +1000 for that...

Your guts are smart.

The Bravo editors really had me believing that Marcel had won it. My take on what the judges thought of him is that he's a more creative and original chef, but that he needs time to mature. Leaving behind key ingredients is totally amature. That and the salad thingy did him in. Give me a break do0d, lettuce, radishes and cucumber!

Ilan. Dewd, did you really say that you "would love to piss on Marcel"? Oh, and the canned worms weren't worth all of the build up. Bravo clearly commented on this with the cheesy "all hail the King" music they played when it was presented. You're just lucky that you didn't have to go up against Sam, he would have erased you.

I think what fucked Sam was the 2 month lay off period before the Hawaii trip. I'm thinking that everyone around him was drilling him constantly with comments about how he was going to win. By the time he got to the finals he was fryz0rd. Don't worry too much Sammy, in most peoples eyes you're the winner. The success will come.

I had a bad feeling about this. I really wanted to see Marcel win, only because his dishes have top-notch creativity, which proves he can create excellent dishes of any culture. What I don't understand, is why Marcel picked Michael to help out, since he's lousy under pressure. Ilan stuck to what he knew most, playing it safe, as usual - blah, blah, blah, one-dimensional Spanish... For Ilan saying he wanted to piss on Marcel - that's just flat-out GAY! The way he said it, added to the suspense. However, I LOL'd so f'in hard.

Sam would've destroyed Ilan. Face it... Line Cook vs. Executive Chef - no contest. However, seeing Sam and Marcel in the finals would've been kickass, too...
