Originally posted by FunkyCrew not necessarily i had two removed with pliers - uncomfy, yes, but the shot they gave me made me lose all sense of feeling on the corresponding sides of my mounth for hours, it was just weird to have two ppl attend me and have 2 tubes sucking stuff out of my mouth at the same time and all... but didn't feel anythingand my regular dentist did it
I had to have one wisdom tooth removed when I was around 25. It had to come out quickly too. And I agree with Abercrombie, it's the worst feeling to have the dentist with his feet against the chair for leverage, as he's twisting out a tooth. Not to mention, the friggin recovery. The other three came out while I was under, which was a much more pleasant experience
avoid infection! cause if you get one.. it's worse than the actual removal! so remember to clean after every meal and before/after sleep!

i did catch a glimpse of the whole apparatus, even mom got a bit freaked out and left the room, but closing the eyes helped a lotRe: Getting my wisdom teeth out tomorrow

Originally posted by Gypsy who in their right friggin mind gets wisdom teeth out without being put under?!?!? i had all 4 of mine out and i told my dentist that he better give me enough sleeping gas to knock me out till the weekend b/c if i woke up at any point during the surgery i would fight my way out of the office and he'd never see me again. i made it to # 87 before i passed out and i dreampt i was at a disco party with multicoloured swirling lights hosted by p.diddy and everyone was wearing white. the recovery was decent. just a dull ache and i stopped taking the T3's b/c they made me feel gross.
Went to the dentist way too many times as a kid and had enough teeth pulled. Once, I was crying so much that I almost swallowed a tooth that the dentist pulled out.
Ugh. Dentists!

Originally posted by Gypsy seriously though...you're ok with the breaking, drilling, grinding, yanking motion that this requires? and then having to see the bloody tooth once it's extracted?! NO THANKS! lol...i'd panic and then probably faint if i woke up during any of it.

Originally posted by FunkyCrew oh common now, i had so many kid's teeth pulled out without any shots just a bored looking dentist it's only wisdom teeth, and trust me i have the lowest tolerance for the sights of blood and i didnt even feel faint, eyes closed, thinking happy thoughts ![]() plus them shutting you down completely isnt that great for you either
