and my regular dentist did it

It's not the pain I was worried about... It's WATCHING a set af pliers down my mouth, and hearing crunching, and feeling tugging, and the blood sucking tubes and sht.

OGRISH

I had to have one wisdom tooth removed when I was around 25. It had to come out quickly too. And I agree with Abercrombie, it's the worst feeling to have the dentist with his feet against the chair for leverage, as he's twisting out a tooth. Not to mention, the friggin recovery. The other three came out while I was under, which was a much more pleasant experience

Posted by AfterAfterhours on Jan-11-2007 00:50:

avoid infection! cause if you get one.. it's worse than the actual removal! so remember to clean after every meal and before/after sleep!

yeah well I closed my eyes i did catch a glimpse of the whole apparatus, even mom got a bit freaked out and left the room, but closing the eyes helped a lot

however, mine were actually cut out of the gum and then pulled out, but there was more scooping out then tugging tbh..

who in their right friggin mind gets wisdom teeth out without being put under?!?!?
i had all 4 of mine out and i told my dentist that he better give me enough sleeping gas to knock me out till the weekend b/c if i woke up at any point during the surgery i would fight my way out of the office and he'd never see me again. i made it to # 87 before i passed out and i dreampt i was at a disco party with multicoloured swirling lights hosted by p.diddy and everyone was wearing white.

the recovery was decent. just a dull ache and i stopped taking the T3's b/c they made me feel gross.

Yeahhhhh.. T3s fucked me up GOOD. [Not in a good way]

Anyhoo.. Getting them out is gonna be a mother****** - You'll be at one with your inner chipmunk for a few days, just keep some painkillers close by and take it easy.

oh i dunno

it's not like they are cutting ur limb off that they need you to be shut off completely

Posted by Yohan on Jan-11-2007 04:40:

Went to the dentist way too many times as a kid and had enough teeth pulled. Once, I was crying so much that I almost swallowed a tooth that the dentist pulled out.

Ugh. Dentists!

seriously though...you're ok with the breaking, drilling, grinding, yanking motion that this requires? and then having to see the bloody tooth once it's extracted?! NO THANKS! lol...i'd panic and then probably faint if i woke up during any of it.

Yeah.

I really am overdue for a visit to the dentist.

But... ugh.

Going to the dentist is about pleasurable as getting repeatly punched in the nuts while Roseanne's boobs are flashing before my eyes.

oh common now, i had so many kid's teeth pulled out without any shots just a bored looking dentist

it's only wisdom teeth, and trust me i have the lowest tolerance for the sights of blood and i didnt even feel faint, eyes closed, thinking happy thoughts

plus them shutting you down completely isnt that great for you either

Jenn, would you seriously take a risk of not waking up? I wouldn't local anesthetic ftw.

it can't be THAT iffy. if you're healthy i'm sure the chance is very very small of something happening or they wouldn't present it as an option.
