the patch worked well for me. was surprised how little i craved. it may have been just a mental thing, but it was good enough for me. maybe just patch up on those times you are going somewhere you think that you will feel desire
I chewed flavored toothpicks incessantly for 8 months when I quit smoking.
I don't think I would have been able to last without them filling the void of not having a cigarette in my mouth.
yeah the funny thing is when ppl say it's easier to quit drugs then smoking wasen't kidding cuz i've been able to cut back on my party favor habits much quicker and with more easy then smoking i reduced it to only at parties and cut back consuption by 50% witch is step one

Noone can stop the craving because nicotine is a parasite in your stomach. Only the strong will can defeat it.
Good luck to everyone

Jesus Christ, Marcin...sometimes the shit that comes outta your mouth..err..fingers is fucking unbelievable.
I quit smoking in November after 10 years, and it was surprisingly easy.
The main thing was recognizing how pathetic it was that I let myself become a slave to such an unhealthy, disgusting habit.
I smoked mostly out of boredom, so breaking the habit was most important for me. Once I did that, I smoked a lot less (duh), and made my eventual termination a lot easier.
Smelling other smokers really helped (and still helps) too. They stink to the point of nausea, and I find it really irritating. I just tell myself "That's what YOU smelled like! Ew gross! YOU'RE gross!!" Amazing how much that helps, lol.
I dunno...you REALLY have to want to do it, because aside from the physical addiction...it's all in your head.
It's also good to acknowledge your cravings when you have them, instead of ignoring or denying it. The feeling only lasts a couple minutes, and the sooner you accept it's there, the sooner it goes away.
Drink LOTS of water!
Good luck man, you can do it.

To quote Justin..
You have to want it bad enough.. if you want to be a non-smoker bad enough it will happen. It is just hard as hell to get there.
I have smoked since I was 14 and half - started that first puff when I was 13, that was 17 year's ago. I have quit so many times and I swear the next time (which will be soon) I will Q.U.I.T. FOR GOOD!~!!!

Right after the blah Tiesto party, I got a fucking nasty case of bronchitis which is just starting to finally go away. (1 week my fucking ass, eh doc?) Anyway, I'm really getting tired of smoking myself. It's claimed people in my family at relatively young ages (50s and 60s). While I was really hacking, I didn't smoke for nearly 10 days but caved when I went out during the holidays after Christmas. Still, I'm only having 1 or 2 a day and sometimes I go 2 or 3 days without any. It's elmininating those last few puffs that's the real kicker.
Those nicotine withdrawals are worse than I ever imagined though; fucking tension headaches, panicky cravings, a slight feeling of being dizzy/stoned, IRRITABILITY big time and fucking insatiable hunger. What a horrible drug.
I'll give you a hand.. you are officially cut-off.. don't bother asking. :P

smoke some really stale ciggeretess or a kind that you absolutely hate, if everytime you have an urge to have a smoke you think about that gross taste from the last time you tried to have one during a craving it will be easier to say no
