...wait for it...

Yeah, we all heard that one too! You guys should just go up to Gene and ask him whatever it is you guys want to know. I'm sure he'll be glad to answer your questions. He's a cool guy, he won't bite.

actually the info about the proposed project is true.

the address they are giving is 6677 SM, while Circus and Arena are at 6655 SM (directly east).

the proposed project is huge - 787 condos plus commercial. I doubt they can all fit at the corner which is what that street address is.

scroll down a bit to see this project.

btw, i think one could make the argument of Avalon being the longest running club in LA...its been open since the 1930s or so....though granted its not had as long of a run with weeklies...i do know they have been running club nites since the 1980s there....before that they had parties, shot a tv game show, concerts, etc.

A good party is about the people, not the venue. Who needs a venue? I have plenty to share.

Any venue can be the "it" place with the right mind and the right people backing it up.

I've only been in Circus once, but it seems like you guys have plenty of good memories from the place.

So who is the longest standing club? (that has never changed its name). How old is Florentine Gardens?

Agree Mikey. People can be in a plush place with stuck-up people and I bet they can't say that was a good party. Now put friendly outgoing people in a warehouse or out in some open field listening to some cool sounds and they'll say that was a good party.

Shame on you, you didn't get to feel the *pLuR*.

.. and yes, many many memories.

It was a sick venue and we were hoping to play it again at some point, but venues are venues and any venue can be great, within reason. Venues come and go and the music is still here.
