well yeah i agree with you there but if the regs do post in here their recommendations, and then the thread is stickied, the n00bs will find this thread and it will most useful to them in the long run.

At the moment i can't really give too many hardware recommendations due to the fact that most of the stuff i've purchased is software...

Those 3 pieces of gear are the pinnacles of my studio. For a completely software based studio, you can't go wrong.
