it's rare that i see well-designed album art. i mean there's a lot of decent and appropriate album art out there that i feel completely indifferent about... but i absolutely love stumbling upon CDs or record sleeves with brilliant artwork.

99% of all covers are shit. the rest is either decent or good.

This is not intended to top the spectacularly shit stuff people have dug up in this thread:

Awesome, awesome album. Painfully good. The cover is shit though. What's more, not only is it shit but it doesn't even begin to convey what the album has to offer. That's what the cover is supposed to be- a visual representation of the the music or the album's tone. I'm of the belief that lots more people would have bought this album if the cover didn't make it look like an effort from one of Warp's more "inventive" acts.

Furthermore, I think a lot of Fluke's track titles are really awful as well. Most of them seem to be just random one-word titles that don't seem to have a lot to do with the track itself.

FSOL - Accelerator. Great debut album from Dougans and Cobain but the cover was some low resolution kaleidoscope nonsense. That said they probabaly spent all the money on samplers, and old vinyls and films to sample.

But if you look at the superb artwork on FSOL albums since (apart from ISDN maybe), its a bit of a rubbish cover.
