never thaught oriental = indians ..but hell i could be more ignorant than i am now - i wont push the issue anymore ...

as far as exit advice goes....

rule #1

you will be searched at the door by an unfriendly militant/gay bouncer that will incist on sticking his finger up your ass (possibly feeling the little plastick baggy that you will hide in there -but still not doing shit about it......

why? - i'm as baffled by this as you are.......

dont put it in your shoes either - they might make you take them off... best place inside your sox by your toes.....

rule #2

for all you know you are back in HK ... very unfriendly crowd... i a the biggest PLUR believer and never once did i get into any sort of problem in my 5 years of partying in this sceen... with the exception of EXIT

i am not racist..but it seems that not everybody is like me... so word from the wise -when (not if) a chineese guy will have a problem with you - dont respond in any way - otherwise you and him will both be kicked out (by a big black bouncer - with the bouncer recieving most pleasure from this activity)

rule #3

stay on the stage for most room, comfort, view of the DJ booth, sound, ease of entrance/exit so you could reach the bathrooms (theres a door in the back of the stage and a flight of stair lead you right up to the restrooms...

rule #4

as much knowledge as i may have about exit - doesnt mean i go there - so please no one accuse me of liking that place...

rule #5

enjoy the vastness of the venue - its the largest club in NY and the biggest one i've been in in the USA (i hear DC has some club thats bigger)

rule #6

fuck rules and enjoy your time

PLUR

as you can see my name is o.g.gook so i believe that it is my duty to clarify oriental and whatnot. "oriental" refers to things while asian refers to people. im sure you didnt write oriental to offend so i dont know what the big deal is. i didnt go to sf but i am reading this thread nevertheless so that i can kick myself. oh yea and i think meejungee is a girl

i am not a tranceaddict in training! how do i change this junk

Posted by ArthurBrooklyn on Apr-01-2002 07:23:

i think swamper is the guy that runs the site - i dunno i'm a newbie here...but in some thread i saw somebody posting that he got rid of posting count (i.e. stautus)... so people would not put up junk post just for the sake of status....

i think its a good idea

stutus is earned by quality of your posts not quantity.....

a wise man listents while a fool runs his mouth (hence all my posts are long )

Posted by ArthurBrooklyn on Apr-01-2002 07:26:

Smile Tongue

most sincere apologies to comfuse people and things - very very ignorant of me

technicaly Israel is in asia right?.......(please spare me the subcontinent talk) do i call jews asian?....... cause then i gues i'm asian too!

sweet.......

I thought I could beat the line by getting there at 10:30. Didn't work... That damn thing wrapped around to the other side of the block. I stood at the back for about 15 minutes and realized I only moved 2 steps. Would have been a 2 to 3 hour wait. Like others, I decided to cut and was on the dancefloor by 11:30. Suprisingly, there was no coat check line. Luis Dias was OK. He warmed the floor up with a nice progressive set. PVD started off slow and progressively got harder and harder throughout the night. Between 5 and 7 that place was pumping with pure energy. SFs sound system was awesome. The place was packed out but that was no suprise. Left the club at around 7:30. Overall, it was a great night. It would have been better if I didn't get sick near the end.

Anyone know what time they stopped letting people in (if they did).

good to hear that u got in ok.. Ye, that girl @ the door was a b$tch.. My girlfriend is 19 and does not have a driver's license.. So she took her college ID with DOB and a bunch of other IDs, including credit cards (means she is at least 18).. Gave us hard time @ the door around 10:30pm.. I am like, get a life woman.. so she called a supervisor and asked him if they would accept college IDs.. I spoke to the guy, showed him my id (I am 26) and like, I came here with her and we r not here to get drunk, blah blah.. So he let us in, NP..
Door search - pretty much non-existant for guys... I am SF regular, and the guy seemed to know me.. He just petted my back and told me to have good times...
Girl line on the other hand - Oh my.. they were searching through their Bras, bags and pants.. I felt kinda bad, since I left my stuff with a girl.. Finally we got on the main floor..
Croud was mainly oriental, but somewhat less cocky than Exit croud @ Tiesto... Lots of Twilo shirts...
PVD set was good, he threw some house around 5-6am, I guess to respect JP and his hard house style and SF vybe on saturday nights...
Miami set was sooo much better, but PVD never disappoints and I thoroughly enjoyed his SF set...
I do enjoy SF, even on regular Sat. nights, and I certainly hope hope he comes back to NYC, wherever he chooses..
SF went a great distance to put in lasers and bunch of projectors all around to make the club visually nicer.. Thumbs up for that to SF management, which is great, unlike EXITs...
Had to leave around 6:30, I was upset since I did not wanna leave @ all...
He closed around 8:30ish...

dude whats up with you why would pvd respect jp the worst dj in the world nowone knows of him except ny and boston, he is not in the top 100 dj even if they had the top 10 thousand maybe he would be ranked number 9999, no disrespect but I see you havent heard pvd lately , this is how he plays, he has gotten much harder and more progressive , please dont put jp's name next pvd you are embarassing him, jp sucks and needs to learn some new skills, trust me I know I used to listen to him like 5 yrs ago.

wow, friday night just blew me away... i been waiting to hear PvD for more than a year now... the last PvD(4-13-01@Twilo)the bouncer kicked me out right after the girl checked my id!!???? i was like wtf?? Twilo bouncers were mad shady like that.. anyways Paul Van Dyk really had me goin at SF.. first of all the crowd wasnt the usual SF heads at all.. i mean i was expecting alot of Twilo heads to be there but at one point, it seemed like all i saw was x-twilo kids(dont get me wrong, there were a few "shirtless muscle dudes" walkin around lookin for dumbchics) the vibe was ok.. PvD kept it goin real smooth.. started off prgressive and housey then little by little, his style of trance started to come on and the pitch changed unoticeably... by around 5-5:30 ppl were goin nuts.. with tunes like, Ever so lonely, Sunrise, Never Fuck, How we used to live, Be Angeled, i was really surprised to hear Punk(original mix) as well as Awakening by Rank 1.. i left around 6:30 cuz my gf wasnt feeling too great but i had an awesome time!! best party i 've been to in a loooong time for real.. and for the venue, it wasnt as bad as i thought... the security wasnt all up in your ass and wow SF got soooo clean!! i havent been to SF since like Oct. of 2000 and one thing i noticed was it got really clean.. it didnt look as ghetto. Oh and one last thing, i was really impressed by the sound system.. u can hear the lows and the highs crisp n clear! every bass that dropped was incredible! well i hope PvD comes back to NYC real soon cuz he made me a very happy clubber=)

Whats up w/Paul opening & playing house for 3 hours like at Space. We were on the 4th floor mostly, there was room to breathe up there. I was bored, waiting for the music to get better. He played euro trance/cheesy vocals or the usual played out trance trax he plays. Closing w/For an angel= stale. He has closed w/it the last 5x I've seen him. He needs to retire Sunrise & Tell me why. The screens & the system was good.

Yea I was on the 4th floor pretty much the whole time too. I thought the sound was good, but i thought they were gonna be showing video of pvd on the screans...i think that would of been so much better...when I heard massive and strings right in a row (like politics) i was on the 4th floor and to me at that point i wouldn't of known the difference if pvd was playin it live, of if the sf was just playing the cd......i hate not being able to see the dj =P Oh well, hopfully they'll pick a bigger venue next time.....beggers can't be choosers i guess

I'll have the guy fired....

hmmm. No one really blew me away at Ultra. Although Carl Cox deserves to be mentioned. Saw Paul 3x in 1 wk= not impressed. As much as I like Tiesto as a person I'm over him. Ferry & Armin were AWESOME at Billboard Live.

Posted by amdmaxx on Apr-01-2002 18:08:

Ahh, tru that.. Armin was awesome when I saw him in Glow..
Now, Ferry's turn to impress me..
And I would have to agree with TwiloGoddes on PVD style - lots of house beats... I personally like them, so I dont mind, but I know it is not for everyone, especially many of u - trance addicts..

Posted by EarnYourKeep on Apr-01-2002 18:25:

yes yes ferry and armin were great at billboard..i stayed and got pics with both'em and had a few secs to chat..down to earth guys. i think pvd played a good set at SF...the only reason why is that NYC has not gotten a good party in a while.

Posted by sot on Apr-01-2002 18:31:

Yes, Paul played wayy to much prog!!. Arthur nice meeting ya man, I just rememebred meeting ya, I was one of the kids with a vandit shirt on, We met sort of near the vip area near the stairs thats all i rememebr lol.
