The example of the Senate isn't a good one for our purposes, like the example of high school freshmen and seniors. The problem is that it assumes that a noob to this forum is a noob in general.

Post count has to be the worst way to assign status I can think of. Length of membership is a close second.

That's fine. I'm not really focusing on the labels anyway. I'm simply fascinated by what makes some people feel superior/inferior.

Some of you seem to indicate that the irony of forum status is obvious, while others seem to question the premise completely. It intrigues me.
