I'd love to see a picture or video of that. Interesting...

Perry Farrell - Feb 06

wasn't expecting much but it was horrible beyond belief

Not a performance but a mix CD....ATB's "DJ In the Mix" volume 1. The worst mixing ever. I have heard his live mixing isn't much better...sometimes it's mixed, sometimes it's just playing tracks.

Oakie's 2006 EM. At least 10 obvious trainwrecks!

Posted by m1kest4r on Jan-31-2007 22:38:

oakenfold @ global gathering 06. shocking.

Mixing was really quick and highly suspicious, track selection was fucking horrid (He opened with Will Smith - Miami, and it was all downhill from there), and in general, the set bored the piss out of me.

I'd been a big fan up to that point - I'd even seen him outplay Sasha in Chicago (big time), but he was awful in Miami.

chris fortier in 2005. spent over an hour focusing on adjustments to the monitors more than mixing, trainwrecks everywhere, and looked pissed off all night and not making any real effort.
fortunately matt rowan closed and gave one of the best sets I;ve ever heard.

Oakey @ Labour of Love 06 in Toronto

Then again, his mixing is not a surprise anymore.

Oh yeah I forgot about him. James Lavelle opening for Holden October 2005. Complete shit mixing and programming, good tunes though.

Mark E.G. at the docks at Be As One last year. he should focus less on his retarded antics and more on the mixing/track selection. as enteratining as it was to see toilet paper flying through the air...

Posted by nchs09 on Feb-01-2007 01:49:

hahaha that video fucking sucked.

i agree, fucking boring shit when i saw him..he played inbetween James Zabiela & Hernan Cattaneo b2b and Sasha and Digweed b2b..
Lavelle's set fucking killed the vibe until Sasha and Digweed got on the decks...i remember throwing up during his set too.

How could I forget Lavelle!! I was at Space in Ibiza for one of their We Love Sundays parties, Sasha had just finished a 2 hour set, I had already seen Paul Woolford, Black Strobe, Spooky, Audiofly, Tom Novy and a few others. I was partying like crazy waiting for Zabiela to come on, I knew he was after Lavelle but figured I could hang until he's done. No. Lavelle fucked up my vibe so bad that not even Danny Tenaglia, playing in the new terrace, could bring it back, I had to leave. Damn you James Lavelle

I went to a Pimps n Hoes party where Tiesto was headlining and was preceded by BEEJ and Portia Surreal. I gotta say Tiesto's set was terrific but Portia Surreal was by far the wrost, overpaid dj I've ever seen in my life. She was mixing from Drum n Bass to techno and progressive and all kind of other wack shit. You'd thing it wouldn't be so bad you know, a little genre crossing execept she couldn't beat match for shit. Maybe you think I'm to critical about technical skills but I'm telling you if you saw this act you'd turn into a believer.
Aside from her terrible mixing skills I guess the rest of the party wasn't so bad though.
check her out tho

Uh from her website, she looks like one of those "Playboy" DJs, there's a ton of them. They are like really hot models who try to act or sing and can't do it..just get by on their looks.

Posted by justin on Feb-01-2007 02:26:

yeah she puts on a good show aside from the mixing...

all kinds of whipping and bondage going on while BEEJ was playing, but thank god she didn't try doing any of that freaky shit while she was spinning.

Oakenfold didn't come to LoL, you must be thinking of decadence. Anyways I was at both of those parties and compared to other recent Oakensets I thought it was one of the better. It was pretty choppy in terms of flow however and full of pop and oakenpromotion.

Probably the worst set I've seen live was Oakenfold at UMF7, where at one point he sat down during the set.

Last time I saw PvD in Cleveland I thought he was substandard, predictable, and his set only lasted 2 hours.

Benny Benassi at Labour of Love was pretty rough at first he looked completely coked out of his mind. It was his second set of the night at 9 AM so I guess it's somewhat inevitable.

Giant .

His mixing's always been too quick & harsh, but he usually picked out enough tracks I liked to overshadow that...but then again, I haven't seen him in a year, & my tastes have changed dramatically since then, so who knows what I'd think now.

...that is just odd, though...

Get down you fucking gimp.

I was there for that as well. I might have to retract my earlier post, because I'd forgotten how shit he was at LFA. Thankfully, I didn't endure it all though, because I was smart enough to fuck off next door while this wanker was on.
