Yes, English is better for anger, cussing, ranting and raving. More words I think?

+1 to allll of this!

I think English does have more words, or at least universally known words. In French most of our words are against the church so they aren't really swear words.... more along the lines of cursing religion.

Que hermosura eres, mi amor <3

On the other hand, sweets, Spanish is also a great language for cussing people out.

(not directed at you)

Que pedazo de mierda eras! Malparido!

it's been 4 years and you still think in French?

I assume you grew up not speaking english or what?

and no I wouldn,t say english as a more extensive vocabulary by any means but words flow much more easilly I think.

French is often viewed as the scientific language because in everyday life people use a much more extensive vocabulary so it is more natural to express yourself in a more detailled way.
In English the vocabulary choice is the same but the usage people make of it is fairly limited.

and the thing in regards to cursing with religions that's a quebec thing ... so consider that a purely Provincial flaw from these asti de tabernacle de qubecois!

Ay Dios Mio, que en el mundo? Asado!

Posted by Frenchie on Feb-04-2007 22:36:

lol!!

Ya, I grew up in a French house hold, and was too stubborn to want to know English. I took it in school , but that was it. Why wouldn't I think in English? I speak it at home, I use it at work all the time, I'm perfectly bilingual though, so it's all good.

As for the swearing deal, you're right. When I was in France people had a more open vocab. of words to swear in. It was comical to listen to.

Watching the news or reading the paper in france can be quite a head spin with the complex vocabulary used all the time ..

People in the US b*tch because they think they don't understand tax forms and stuff but in France it's 10 times worse people are so freaking confused
