Exactly. The music is always amazing, and it's always fucking rocking. One of my fav places to go out in Toronto to be honest.

Make sure you go Sunday morning from 6am-noon or 1... that is the best time to go hands down.

I heart CZ

Church @ CZ = Sketch Olympics? Probably. The idea of the place is that everyone looks the other way until you force them to do otherwise, at which point you get turfed. Definitely the nicest, friendliest people and the meanest beats in the city, though. The music is faster, nastier, and more creative than anything, hands down.

It's a bit of a cult thing with a dedicated base of regulars. I know a bunch people who skip clubs/afters and head straight to the Zone on Sunday. A lot of it is about the music: I get the feeling it wouldn't work as well in Montreal unless there were some DJs pounding hardcore buck-nasty beats every week, and I don't think Stereobar can afford to be as lax on the security/frisk as CZ because it's connected to Stereo and the ramifications of getting shut down would be enormous. I think CZ has been closed a few times, then re-opened after paying off more police.
