This is ridiculously slow. Last time I played this in a peak time set I had it at +14%

Nice thread.

I always felt Ralphie B - Massive was too slow. PvD played it at just the right tempo in his Gatecrasher Summer Sound System set of 17/06/2001.

Airwave - Ubiquity

First heard it in a Thomas Datt set and now the original speed sounds incredibly slow for the style of track!

How about ones that are too pitched up and should be slowed down. Well Marco V's "I Feel You (Thomas Datt's 2v2 Remix)" sounds better slowed down, like it did on that Matt Hardwick 2003 Promo Mix on TA's livesets page. Sounds better a little pitched down, it's close to 140 bpm, sounds better about 135.

Yeah, I can actually think of a bunch of tracks for this thread just based off of PvD livesets/TPOD tracklists over the years.

Another from TPOD: Santiago Nino - Believe (Max Graham's Sidechain Remix). Again, the original bpm is 127! Waaaay too slow.

i pitched up Trentemoller -Nightwalker to +9 once and it turned out great.. although i didn't feel that it HAD to be pitched up, it is good as it is originally..

Elizabeth Fields -Speak In Sympathy is one that definatly works much better for me pitched up a little bit..

Posted by Vandict on Feb-14-2007 20:11:

here are a few that i always have bouncing off +8

Dark Suite - Dark Sweet Piano (Starchaser Remix)
Philippe B - Like You Do
14 Street - Children Trippin

Posted by XDR on Feb-14-2007 20:19:

Perasma - Swing To Harmony (Original Mix), works better pitched up.

Mr. Sam feat. Kirsty Hawkshaw - Split (Jonas Steur Remix) could have been a bit slower for me.

Posted by kernkraft on Feb-14-2007 20:29:

i would consider much more interesting a list with tunes that better should be pitched down a few percent.. many DJs pitch their stuff up live, but pitching something down is quite rare.

pitched up: too many

pitched down: electrovoya - days like these
for example. its 137-138BPM, not sure, but it sounds better @ 133-135BPM

JONESEY - INDEPENDANCE (STADIUM MIX)

I bought Always something better to play as an opening track for my sets... but accidently once played it at +6 at home... and have since used it every time at "peak time" in my sets... But no doubt, the original speed works well for me too..

Cave - Plutonium (Chris Liebing Remix)
