well, yeah.. i included the "not because it isn't in the OMGTIJS hands in the air style" part of my post to try & avoid replies like that. i'm aware it's a 'proper' trance track, i just don't think it's a very good one. whilst i admire the subtle build, when the chorus finally kicks in it just doesn't sound right.. it's like it can't make up it's mind between climaxing or staying subtle, and ends up compromising (and sounds rather trite in doing so.. imo)

yeah that's true.. i was just giving my reasons for not liking it, since otherwise people would have assumed (and by the looks of it, have done so) the only reason people don't like it is because it's a more subtle style of trance that doesn't rely on a big breakdown. there are tonnes of trance tracks in that vein that i've loved, i just think this is a pretty lousy one. it never appealed when i first heard it (about a year before tiesto's i think) and it's appeal hasn't grown over time either

Both the Tiesto and Airscape mixes are pretty good. Airscape has more energy so is probably more for dancing in a club and the Tiesto is more for hands in the air . But both work on the floor and I'd say they are equal.

(Tiesto in search of sunrise remix) all the way!

Gatecrasher. And I thought - What a fucking shit track. I've always hated this piece of shit. The Fade Mix is awful, and Tiesto's mix is even worse.

Cheese.

Heh. If anyone on TA was going to make that post, it was going to be Mikey Mike.

...I don't think ANY song can escape.

Fade and Tiesto mixes are the only decent ones, all the others are shit.

Fade trumps tiesto imo, but then I did here it first, chilling at a beach bar back in Cape Town

I love the Filterheadz remix

where were you when you first heard silence in a club ??

sounds emotional, mates, jules, ibiza and gary's.

fade mix kicks the shit out of the others. This is cold hard fact.

that being said, i do enjoy tijs remix aswell, but the original & sanctuary remix blows it out of the water

Spot on.

Never liked any of the verions.

Tiesto's mix is ghey, and Fades mix is only liked because it's meant to be something it isn't.

You say this because you've clearly only heard 1 or 2 of Delerium's tracks.

Posted by Omega_Blue on Feb-17-2007 12:03:

there's nothing to add to this thread other than.. fade sanctuary mix ftw.

Posted by The Drow on Feb-17-2007 13:55:

I like all of the remixes more or less.
The above & beyond remix isn't that amzing.
The filterheadz is a nice makeover for the track.
Woods did a good job too. Tiesto remix is great. Fade is nice too.

I first heard the song (Sanctuary Mix) on 102.1 The Edge Live To Air @ The Phoenix. Fell in love with it right then and there... Sarah McLachlan has a beautiful voice.

srsly.

Delerium tracks better than silence:

Flatlands, Lamentation, Remembrance, Resurrection, Twilight... and I'm sure there's a ton I'm forgetting.
