technically if you dont work and yet still have a good life i can only assume 3 things:

You either are very lucky and have parents that pays for everything

You got some loans and grants

You are whoring yourself

Noise has always been a problem when I DJ. I think it's cuz I blast the sound so that the floor shakes. I can imagine how this is bad at 3AM but I play at 1PM and I still get knocks on my door.

Fucking bullshit I can't wait till I get a house.

It ruins my vibe too... I don't even feel like mixing afterwards.

Is it really nessessary to make the building shake when you listen to music?

Posted by Marcus007 on Feb-16-2007 17:45:

Yes.

Personally (key word) I like to feel the bass hit my chest :P

But it's cuz I'm mixing not cuz I'm just chilling listening to a choon :P

And Tell me Why sounds great loud Haki-Sak :P

we're talking about mixing music , not listening to it ...

Posted by SummerWolf on Feb-16-2007 18:13:

lol i aint bashing the guy, im just kidding around... some people are quite sensitive...

about noise complaints... unless you are ripping the wall off with your bass, i dont think it should be a problem... i would suggest that you invite your landlord over and ask him if the volume u play at is ok. that way if he agrees, there is nothing ur neighboor can do

Strap the subwoofer to your chest with a belt or two.

I agree with you Marcus, it kills the vibe....
about trying sound level with landlord, i m gonna try that with my
neighbor, if she agrees to stand less than a meter at me cause i dunno why, but she is scared of me everytime her boyfriend is not around.

(baguette whiping)

IMO, if you unable to mix your music at a moderate level then rent an apartment in a building with party/club/drug dealer/friendly/bum people who dont care or go get a studio with some friends or whatever that make sense

Like everyone here I like to listen to my music really loud, but when I'm at my apartment I don't pump up the volume to make the floor and walls shake. At least just reduce the bass, because the gain doesnt disturb a lot, it kills me when I try to study for an exam and the only thing I can hear is a kick + boring bass loop.

Oh man, I had problems with sound as well. It got to the point where i renovated my place and professionally soundproofed the room.

Now, no problems AT all

Ill post some pics of my studio when the renovations are complete
