| Originally posted by VisionsofPVD I havent posted in a really long time, but I thought it would be worth it to state that FINALLY Paul departed from his "usual" batch of tracks to end his set! Woo hoo! The whole night was great, a perfect mixture of new tracks and semi-old, and despite the fact that his transitions are mechanical nowadays, you can really tell now that he's really comfortable with his Ableton setup...... Tracks of the night: DT8 Project ft. Andrea Britton - Hold Me Till The End (Truly Deeply Dub) |

last night was so sick. i loved almost all of it. granted i was getting wasted upstairs and not in the crowd. i was so happy that his bpm's were back up around 143's as someone mentioned.... i felt like for the last couple parties he slowed it down a bit and was playing a lot more proggy stuff, but last night was so energetic. so much trance... w/ a good blend of other stuff mixed in. very angry that i don't remember hearing art of trance - madagascar. how'd i miss that!
overall great party... saw some familiar ta's... had a great time
werd anyone know wat mix of madagascar he dropped?

I have an ish load of pics and videos (I think some of holding onto nothing pheonix
)but my brain totally hurts. Maybe tomorrow I'll work on getting them uploaded!
Wow is all I have to say. Totally agree with most people's comments -- he really brought it last night. Very different set than he's been dropping lately, and boy was it relentless. Someone mentioned it reminded them of his sets from 2002-3 and I couldn't agree more. I was super tired last night but his set kept me energized all the way till 5:30. The place was packed as hell between 1 and 4am -- lots of rude and unnecessary shoving and pushing.
I made it in pretty early because I wanted to miss the wait in line. Short line but the super surly ID checkers made even a 5 minute wait unbearable. Porter did a great job building his set -- last hour was excellent.
Like the new reed room set up, but the bathroom situation downstairs is weird. Don't like the fact that you can basically see guys taking a piss. They gotta fix that shit.
Great to hang with all the TAs -- Alyssa and Drew, great to meet you.

| Originally posted by Dream Beamz First off, pretty much everything was a pvd rework last night since paul has really started to utilize ableton. Hell,he even gave us a 30 min timeframe for him just messing around with ableton with spastik in the background, kept changing the bassline to different basslines that he uses throughout his whole set. My tracklist is not going to be on point till I get back to charlotte on tuesday. I dont have my digital camera cable or all my sets to go through and figure out the track names. But I will say this, the first 3 hours were relentless. He came on at about 143bpms and didnt slow down for nearly 3 hours. When he did get back up it was kinda off and on but it didnt matter, i think he was just trying to give the crowd a break. Tracklist: If you already said the track, i am just verifying it since there might be some doubt Dave Spoon - At Night Way Out West - Mindcircus (G&D Mix) Modulation - Spirits (Slusnik Luna remix) Filo and Peri - Anthem New Order - Blue Monday Synsaethesia (did not recognize the mix) Simon & Shaker - Make It (Dub Mix) Angelli and Nelson - Holding onto nothing Paul van Dyk feat. Ashley Tomberlin - Complicated Paul van Dyk - Stormy skies (new remix, not ableton rework) Kuffdam and Plant - The Ones We Love (Dogzilla remix) As the rush comes vs Kuffdam and plants - Dream maker (not a fan of ATRC but this was hot) Giuseppe Ottaviani - Through your eyes (Original mix) Mac & Mac - Listen (Mac Zimms Dub Mix) Nu-NRG - Casino Randy Katana - Fancy Fair 2005 Did I hear Paul Van Dyk - Another way and Nautical Imaginary - Distant Dreams when I was in coat check I will add to this when i get my camera cable or think of new ones. Overall, i enjoyed the night alot, i think it was an awesome set. The club was nice and big and the crowd was carrying an awesome vibe. |
!
I would have gone nuts if he played this track from the 2002 Loveparade.

his New Order - Blue Monday version sounds so great

here's my .02 cents..... got to crobar at 11:30 thinking it would be a quick line, man was i wrong! me and fotoaddict waited on line for a good hour and fifteen before finally getting in. then another 30 at coat check
look wise, im not sure if i like what they did when the small room, yes taking out that bamboo stuff was a good move, but it seems real empty, i hope they do something with it. the main room was basically the same to me, not sure if they are doing anymore?
now about P v D! i thought he totally tore it up last night!!
he kept me going all night nonstop. so many good tunes and such solid progression throughout the night. alot of classics which were awesome to hear. i didn't expect him to play mindcircus so early into his set but it was awesome either way! i finally got to meet trancinchink and his friend (can't remember ATM) which was a long time comin, dani ur next
...his new album looks promising and im already ready for it to be released
unfortunately i had to leave @ 4:30 cause my gf was tired and hurting plus i had work real early
here we go summerstage!!
(8 days after pvd in ibiza
)
