Anyway, what's the big deal with going up stage or back there?

The vibe & music was cool and I had fun this time but not sure when I'll be going back. Damn night cost me $55.00, with no place to dance or have a smoke while sitting down... nah not for me.

heh well you know how i am with my shirt. i like to do it myself as much as possible. i couldnt this time cause they were being dicks. i couldnt even run up on stage and tell everyone that was up there bye!

I can see the video in Linux at work, and on Windows at home. Pretty sure OS X can play quicktime video too so that covers the 3 major platforms. How much more platform independent do you want to get?

Downloading now but I want a video of SF....they took tons of them!!!!

The video uses the Apple MPEG-4 codec which was a big botch by apple. terrible quality. QuickTime on Windows and Mac can play them obviously, on and Linux/Unix/etc I imagine a program like mplayer (freeware which is also available on PC and Mac) can since it's like the most kick ass, most stable player in existence that can seemingly play everything if you get the right build!

If you use a PC and hate how Apple's HD H.264 trailers have tearing in them when you watch them, get a program like mplayer or media player classic....cause they will play them perfectly smooth. QuickTime on PC is horribly optimized, as is just about anything Apple makes for the PC.

I have had to learn the ins-and-outs of H.264 in the last 8 months. An amazing codec that's so flexible.

ya, mplayer w/ win32 codecs does the trick for all A/V on linux. havent tried gstreamer's completely free implementation in awhile and never tried VLC on linux but it isnt too bad in windows although wouldn't use it over media player classic.

I put up some of the pictures that were taken with my camera on my myspace page.
Just click on the website link at the bottom if you want to see them.

Yep, I love that song like no other but B&J played it way too fast. I almost had a heart attack doing the buzzed bunny hop dance to it BTW, gotta give props to Alex Morph too since he created most of that song

As much as I hate Avalon, I have to admit things weren't nearly as bad there last Saturday as they were pre-Spundae days. I'm hoping it gets better every week now. What I do hate tho is the random backstage/onstage policy. They're very subjective who they let where. I prefered Circus much more because there was very little division between the "somebodies" and "nobodies." Also, Avalon was quite crowded which made me feel like a sardine compared to how it was at Circus where there was always room to roam freely

In any case, I had more fun than I expected! Great seeing so many TAs and Spundae folks!

well it didnt seem to play but at the same time i need to dump the horribly put together distro i have. its pissing me off royally.

dave: yeah the h.264 codec is GREAT but as you said, apple has HORRIBLE implementation. oh wait isnt that apples trademark? ive said apple has great hardware for years but their OS sucks ass. os10 is much better than pre-10 but still sucks.
