Inflammation that can cause fevers, etc. etc. LOL...medical evidence, are you a doctor now?? ROFL. I guess my nursing texts and instructors are all wrong then. If you really need to see proof, I'll gladly dig up some evidence from peer reviewed journals. |

| Originally posted by DigiNut I genuinely would like to see anything from a peer-reviewed journal that says vitamin C has a measurable effect on fighting sicknesses and/or reducing symptoms, above and beyond the normal amount of vitamin C in a proper diet. If it's just being used to fight vitamin deficiencies because of a poor diet then, well, that's another thing. If there's evidence that it works in other ways then please, put it up, I'd love to be able to confirm that I'm not wasting the $5 a month or whatever it's currently costing me. |

I've been sick three times in the past month...
1st time - bacterial infection
2 other times viral...one of them being bronchitis...rrrrrr...
I'm really hoping I won't get hit with the plague...again!

Well, someone's got ants in her pants. I'm not questioning your knowledge as a nursing student, I just equate a higher level of credibility to practicing doctors, who also had to learn all of these things and then some. I would equate even higher credibility to peer-reviewed studies that aren't contradicted by other peer-reviewed studies, seeing as how they represent the input of many practicing doctors and medical scientists, but at this point I haven't seen any. I don't inherently trust anyone who doesn't back up their claims, whether they're a doctor, nurse, student, or university professor.
And while I'm sure you trust what your textbooks tell you, I really don't know what your textbooks tell you and what you're just assuming/extrapolating, now do I?
Besides, that wasn't what the snappy comeback was supposed to be for.

Bahahaha, that's a perfect ending, I love it.
I'll be waiting for those studies, I'll blow you after I see them.
