Gotta love the quebec woman
Calling cards!
Also in Mexico you can get a Movistar or whatever phone for $40 or so and just fill it with another $40 of minutes.
Where did you play down there?
You can bring your cell phone, but don't use it to make phone calls unless it is really necessary. I always bring mine with me when traveling - I'm with Fido as well - and if I need to communicate with someone or vice-versa, I use the TEXT MESSAGE feature.
works like a charm ...
text message: "meet u @ d corner of bla bla bla" = CND 0.20
Phone Call: "what'up - meet you at the corner of bla bla bla" = CND 20.00
Use the text message feature boys and girls ... or, if you are related to Paris Hilton, you should have a Iphone by now :-)
Well the rate from Fido in Mexico is 3.50 a minute so after 5 hours you're already passed a 1000$. And the lesson here is to not bring a cell on vacation, you're supposed to be leaving everything from home and just relaxing.

I saw you once standing all by yourself on the side of the street waiting for the red light to turn green. if that's not a pussy I don't know what is. now to the point: it is not possible for someone of your caliber to achieve a 800$ cell phone bill unless you're someone important. I came close to 600$ once and I know a lot of hot people. I want to see your bill or else I'm gonna have to call you a liar and a half. spiffy out. |
i laughed so hard i think i made a nugget in my panties.

| Originally posted by Soundwerks I got a bill for $300 from Rogers from when I was in LA last month. I didnt even use it much, but they charge friggin $0.95 per minute just for roaming charges... What I usually do is just sign up for a long distance plan before I go away....its like an extra $10-20 (depending on the plan), and it saves you A LOT! Then you just cancel the LD plan the next month. ![]() I did it online before I went to LA..but it didnt seem to work (did it online) and now I got screwed |
Louis, I was told that lately they were having trouble especially in Mexico. People out there are stealing the lines of the cell phones. I'm not too sure how they do it but it seems that when you do a phone call, they intercept the frequencies and then they could do calls on your cellphone account.
I went to mexico city last week for business issue and I didn't bring my cellphone out there, I just paid a few pesos in the phone booths.
So maybe you are a victim of cellphone hijacking, you should maybe tell your cellphone company.
That is insane....
Now I don't feel as bad about my 300$ phonebill lol..
