I dunno if this is on all Bell plans too, but when he was with them, I had a better long distance plan, so I would call him more than he would me to save money. But no...no money was saved. B/c he was charged for incoming long distance calls. WTF.

yeah, i've heard that too about the billing...I don't understand why its so difficult for them to get things in order.

And Incoming long distance? WTF! I should check my bill..i someone how get 200 free long distance minutes in Canada & US (excluding roaming fees) but still..thats messed up.

The only good part is that I can upload and download new ringtunes whenever I want..right now my ringer is Rock Your Body Rock haha..i only wish I had and MP3 phone and that way I could have any song I want...

Bell changed their billing system about a year ago and there were some problems with billing. Since then there have been very few billing issues with Bell.

For those who remember when Rogers changed their billing system - Rogers too had loads of problems with incorrect bills, etc, etc, etc.

You pretty much won't be able to avoid either Rogers or Bell. Telus will go down eventually. Pick the lesser of two evils for yourself. Bell I have a hate on for them for a long time. Plus their phones don't use the SIM card business and that's why they suck. So I use Fido, but it's owned by Rogers so I pick the lesser of two evils.

Fucking hate Bell.

You sound like a sales man for Bell. It's not an excuse. Lisa said she had a billing problem every month for a year. That's LAME!

I used to be a sales person for bell... and people were so fucking anoying when they came to the store to bitch about the billing WOW.

But i can understand where they are coming from... the moral of the story is to NEVER EVER sign up for pre authorized billing. Because if the screw ur bill, they will take out that money from ur bank .. but if its just a statement its not big deal.

You're both right - quad-band phones generally get better reception that tri-band, but it still depends a lot on the engineering of the phone - some tri-band phones outperform quad-bands if they're made well. Which was the case with k750. Other than that, Fido and Rogers DO share the cell towers, so you'll get exact same reception regardless of which one you're with. Lastly, 850 band is mostly used in rural areas because lower frequency means the wave travels further, so if you're in the city, you're most-likely to use one of the other 3 bands.

Rogers is having most of their HSDPA on 850.

Do you know when that was? B/c I've been with them for quite awhile and never had a problem like that. Or else I just may have been one of the lucky ones.

And Margs, I'm not even exaggerating. I literally had to call them every month to correct charges that they messed up on.

im with telus, my main complain is lack of cool phones and the fact that I can not use a SIM card to store my phone numbers on it AND go abroad with my phone.

Posted by nadezhda on Feb-23-2007 16:40:

i'm with bell and i hate them!!!!

i don't even get an itemized bill since i changed my plan...if i want that i have to pay $3 a month. fuck that, assholes!!!! that should be included.

also, when i was in NYC last year i got charged for messages left on my voice mail, even though i never answered them myself. this did not happen with my other friends who were there and are with other companies.

also, with my texting plan, i pay the full 20 cents for international texts, whereas friends who are with telus and have texting plans only pay the extra 5 cents more that the international texts cost.

just a few of the small things that annoy me A LOT.

soooo i am pretty sure i am switching companies as soon as the number portability thing comes in...just don't know which one.

plus, my phone sucks! although it is nearly 3 years old...

Quad band GSM phones FTW. been with rogers since the begining and no problemos. $ 1/day,unlimited weekends only costs me $ 35 per month....couldn't be happier

I've been with bell when I had my business lines hooked up....and boy was it a struggle to deal with them and fix monthly bills for the first 5 months.

Hmmm, never had problems that I recall. I guess I was lucky.

Just a tip for some people too that are with Rogers and plan on staying with them. I've had virtually the same plan for a long time - with maybe a few changes here and there. If you have to buy a new phone, notice you get a better deal the longer you make your contract. If you've had the same plan for awhile, are happy with it, and want to stick with it...you may as well sign up for a longer contract and save the money! You can make changes to your bill at any time - add/subtract features. I dunno if there's a cost to change the plan all together. But like I said, if you like you've had your plan for awhile, why not just sign up for a longer contract and save money on your new phone. At least IMO.

I know you are not exaggerating.

I called and reported my phone lost/stolen, for two months after I still got charges for full plan on their system. I would call, and sure enough, it was in their system that I had called and cancelled but I was still getting charged for a phone that I didn't even have or use (the phone itself was not even in use, no calls from it, nothing). (and no, I wasn't under contract).

Bell are crooks, thats why all their customer service reps are french so when they screw up they just blame it on them not understanding your english lol.

No but seriously I have worked and sold for all four cellular companies, by far best customer service is Fido and Rogers. Bell being the worst, telus has the worst policies......

The one thing I hate about Rogers customer service is that damn voice activated menu. They had it for awhile and I hated it, then they switched back and now they have it again. I HATE IT! I've made a few complaints about it, and the customer service reps have been really great saying that they appreciate my comments, and in fact they want feedback from their customers to know what works and what doesn't. They gave me a website to put in my complaint about to.

Now I don't know how serious they took my complaints, b/c they still have the voice thing. But perhaps there haven't been many complaints, or people have also said they liked the new system. I just thought it was really good how they handled the situation though.

Posted by Cosmic Fur on Feb-23-2007 19:00:

O, I didn't know people actually complained. I hate it too, I'll mention it next time I'm calling them.

+1 never had a problem either...

Bell products > Rogers products, especially internet.

they bill you untill the end of your contract. this is typical of all providers.

A few things i must point out-

its still standard for even telus to charge you 3$ for detailed billing, the same with rogers/fido

its still 20c for intl text messages with telus, until and unless you have unlimited text messaging for 10$ a month then only you pay 5c a message for intl text messaging or get the 5$/100 text messaging

so your friends on telus are telling you a load of crap, but its true to a certain extent, how do i know this? because i work for telus lol

ive been with rogers for the past few years and i have no complaints in regards to their service or support.

until its a big concern, they would care less, the people who actually call in to complaint is less than 1-2% generally and its those people who only have 40-50$ plans on their accounts.
