yes but it was DT who gave OG his true start by inviting him to arc in the 90's since then that has been his mentor and why oscar is the only other dj out there even slightly comparable to DT, whom obviously has developed his own style but is quite similar, its not about what people on this messageboard think its about the edm population as a whole, and they all know these things! no mention of OG not being mild mannered as again that is how DT is, he always comes down to the floor at the end dances with everyone and greets all his fans, something u would never see any other jock do, as for all the gays, it adds to the vibe, seriously its not liek there hitting on u, although i did get touched in a weird way at one DT show..lol. zakdog knows! nooooooooooo haha

we can give DT cred where it's due.

He's old school, still rocking it and he may be consistent to those that like him and have seen him for years .
I can say the same about PvD...

I just think that there are alot more better dj's that I have only seen once and would love to see again. Whether new or old school. Doesn't really matter to me. Dj's that start off slow and then preogress are never really my faves. But atleast I gave it a try

Theres hundreds of dj's out there.. I'm not gonna like all of them.

I'd prefer seeing someone else over DT.

I call them like I see them for better or worse. As much as I hate to say it, Melly and Spacemasters are 100% correct. If you were not there, than you cannot fully understand how bad it was. I had seen DT at least 10 times b4 yesterday and always enjoyed his sets b4. But what i heard last night was pretty weak IMO.

First off Twilo promoters went on CJ and posted he would start at 2, yet he did not go on til 3, strike 1. Secondly, DT proceeds to make a 5-minute speech when he gets on followed by 1 1/2 hours of blah boring-ass cheesy house. It was not until 4:30 that he finally dropped anything even remotely techy, and even then it was nothing great, so there's strike 2. Finally the insurgents @ Twilo yesterday were in full force, and by 6 a.m. that place looked like a full-on White Party, making "exit-stage-left" a must. Strike 3.

And yes I know DT always talks on the mic. But he usually follows it up with susbtance, last night he didn't. And I also know "it's a marathon set." But when you start at 3 a.m. the party-goers are already in the middle of their marathon, so do not bore the shit out of them and bring the energy level down to coma-inducing proportions. Some of us do not wish to wait until 8 am to hear anything good. And I have been to DT marathons b4, and he never started off or played any stretch for that matter that was as weak as the beginning of his set yesterday. He even trainwrecked at least twice. Finally, I know there are gay people @ Twilo, was there for DT a few weeks back without any issues, and have been to other DT parties b4 which always have that element. But last night it was bad to start with, and as stated b4 by 6am it became scarier than spending a stormy night at the Amityville Horror house while they are conducting mass exorcisms.

dt is outta control zack i think you would agree thats why i wanted you to come out.. he is the most talented dj on the planet hands down og is not even in the same league and og is a guy i really respect. and the amount of tracks this guy can throw at you is rediculous, he builds sets so well just a great mix of genres and classics. he can just floor you countless ways...i seen him enough to know. like rzo says hes a marathon dj if you cant sack up and at least make it 8am then dont freakin comment on DT

sorry to hear about dt ive seen him 2 times last year and both have been sensational but thats because he started out banging cause the first time he played after mauro picotto and the second was when he tag teamed wit cox and that was insane wat he was droppin
hes haveing a bday party next week here up in nyc i hope he bangs it out but yea if dt is spinnin all night and comes on at like midnight i wouldent go before 4am but after 4am ur gonna hear bomb after bomb

you guys are a bunch of clowns, you live in MIAMI if ya cant get along with the gays then your in the wrong place...i gotta say throughout my clubbing career ive been in some shady afterhours spots where the enviroment is pretty bad for a straight guy like myself i cant blame ya for not wanting to be there Dt has a strong gay following so going to see him comes with the territory but Twilo was not one of those places yea the crowd was mostly gay but it wasnt that packed you had plenty of room to dance and not once last nite was bugged bothered or scared it just wasnt that kind of crowd yea maybe i had rachel with me but that never stopped them before. you wanna be scared go to the comfort zone in toronto....

lol...the thing is that DT fans, the crazy followers that he has, know his parties and know they go crazy at the end , why many now just go late, its like deepdish at space, go early (the mainroom and they are shit) go late like 6 am and check them on terrace, its ace...point is for DT if u don't wanna hear all the whack shit he plays in the beginning, which im not saying isnt whack , sometimes its a lil wierd, than show up late. it will be a freakfest, not for the mild hearted, but it is a schooling of how to rock a room full of people, completely mind bending the way goes through genres like nothing. unlike no other

anyways.. i don't see why a marathon dj needs time to progress to get better. it makes no sense to me.. the marthon needs to be consistent more than anything. i never hjeard a set from him and if the 1st hour isn't anything of what DT really spins then why did he have to go through all that bull shit?

I have no problem with the gays but for Burridge it wasn't HALF as many gays as last night. I srsly felt like I was at Score.. But the only difference was that @ Score.. I actually have MORE fun.


Everyone here is entitled to their own opinions and I can careless about DT. I went just to say that at least I got to see him once. Never again. I got more dj's on my plate I'd rather see.

Yeah I didn't see you either, and you would have stood out in that crowd for all the right reasons.

And to be clear no one said anything about not getting along with the gay popultaion in Miami. I am indifferent to it, as long as there are girls in the club and the guys do not bother me it's okay. But when you take a shitty DT set, and add in a 99% gay crowd, common sense dictates there is not much for a straight guy to do at that club.

I don't have the time nor do I want to read every post in this thread......but my response to some of the posts that I did read is this:

You can knock DT all you want but when it comes down to it....he wouldn't want it any other way. He does this on purpose to weed out all the haters that bitch and moan and are there just to be seen out.....so like Rzo said, the real party doesn't start till all the cry babies leave the club. I wanted to go but I'm saving all my energy for WMC.

If a dj wants to "weed out the cry babies" then what kinda dj is that? He should be playing like he plays in the morning to gain new fans.

edit- maybe.. just maybe the club should start doing DT night on a Saturday like Lee.. then it won't be as bad.

I think they pull in that crowd regardless on fridays because of it's weekly gay nights. just a thought.

No one is knocking DT. Just face it, anyone can have a bad night, and having seen DT at least a dozen times I can say the first 3 hours last night was just that. And your claiming that he plays shitty on purpose to clear the club of people has to be one of the funniest things ever written. Never seen him do it b4, not even 2 weeks ago. And it's sorta like saying the Heat or Dolphins play like shit the first half of the season on purpose to lose some fans. It's always great to see someone that was not even there think they know what actually went on better than those that actually attended the party. You never know, if you were actually there you might agree with alot of what has been said.

I didn't go, but I think Burridge was also on a Friday. And believe it or not, Saturday is the "official gay night." So if they throw DT that night it would only be worse in that regard

That club has sooo much potential.

I love the lights on the sides of the V.I.P area. It looks like the stereo things that go up and down according to the music playing. [dunno what its called]

They decorated it really nice and cute with 1 thousand balloons!!

I hope the promoters/owners change what they are doing or that place is going down. Might be done with after WMC.

So its DT bringing it back again!?!...

Last I heard was that after he banned Space, he started playing at the club called WAREHOUSE and had he's own nights there.. I heard they failed ?!!..

Prior to that I always kept hearing about DT's historic marathon sets @ the Old Space. He would even play Yoko Ono's songs or have her perform live ... he would also play original records from random bands and artists, never seen him but he's old GU its pretty good... now IM out to eat some Thai food.

You are right Melly the club is insane. Love the setup, lighting and sound. Staff is also good. And they hardly even used that wall of lights next to the VIP couches yesterday, but they can have them going off to the music and it is pretty trippy. I mentioned in the Armada night thread (WMC forum) that I think they picked a really good place for that party. Which is one of the reasons I am leaning that way for Saturday night of WMC.

Maybe I was being alittle harsh, but DT may be good, and he may pay techno, and blah, blah, blah. SO does the Sander, and he MOrillo, OG, Lawler and they do not start boring people. All these guys incorporated techno, minimals beats, as well as prog house. DT isnt the only one doing it, and its not like he invented it either. It would be like saying not one has ever experiment different styles.

Just like Mel is saying that club has so much potential, there lights look sick, but I think the guy working them is a rookie. And as far as the staffing, they seem ok too, its just the crowd they need to work at and definetly promotion as well. DT imo was not packed at all, with reviews I read heer and on CJ, I was expecting a huge turnout. Im pretty sure there were 2 kinda flyers for that party one saying DT would be there, and one saying it was fruity pebble night. There must have been more pebbles there than @ space, and space was throwing a funky night too from what I saw outside.. I think they need to bring other big people, becuase if they keep relying on DT to make that club somehting huge in miami there wrom. WMC line doesnt look bad. And they are promoting alot for Lawler, so will see how that goes..

SM, I think hating on the gay crowd is lame.

you were going to twilo, you know it's reputation... and unless one of them comes up and grabs your ass, you shouldn't sweat it. that's just ignorance
