What's your definition of a sell out? IMO a sellout is someone who isn't true to themselves.

For example a rapper claiming to be a hardcore gangster, when he or she has never had such a lifestyle just to make money is to me a sellout - BUT if he or she is saying I don't care I'm just portraying this to make money, then hey more power to them, because at least they're being up front about it and if the public is willing to buy into it then that's that.

but BT doing a score for a movie? How the heck is that selling out? Now unless he has personal disagreements with what the movie is about in relation to dance music and he still went ahead a made the score. Yeah then he sold out or if he praises that he would never do a movie score.

I don't know if someone offered me tons of money to develop music for a 2 hour movie. I'll do that in a heartbeat. If it means more money to explore the world or provide more for a family. Absolutely.
