I wouldn't want to be famous, but I'd want to have done something that would result in fame (since we can eliminate being a dumb, coked-out whore with millions of dollars from that equation, anyways).

Again, it seems that certain celebs get away with it and certain celebs don't. Hugh Grant, Eddie Murphy, Shannon Dougherty... all had some bad publicity yet recovered. Some...well: Courtney Love, Michael Jackson, Brit... well, that remains to be seen. tho my guess is that she's done... for at least next 5-10 years. When she comes back - she'll be just another Anna Nicole Smith. Fat, dumb, trashy. Probably will be dead before she's 40. sad.

Would you want her fate?

I wouldnt mind being famous. Id take the Jerry Seinfeld approach... instead of making myself incredibly unattainable like all these other idiots - Ill walk right up to them and let them have a photoshoot of me shopping on Rodeo Dr. Once you take away the unavailability, the paparazzi just dont care anymore. ffs, Id call them and tell them where Ill be. "Hey, Im drunk and club 'whatever', come take pictures of me!"

Of course, you'd also have to be unattractive and old for that to work, too, since I sincerely doubt that they have any interest in hunting him down sunbathing or swimming--availability or not.

Youre missing the point, if EVERYONE has pictures of you... the value of your pictures arent worth anything - if you can deflate the cost of your photos, than paparazzi will just move on to bigger fish that havent caught on.

No, I see the point...I just figure that for attractive people, bathing suit photo prices don't deflate nearly as quickly as "OMGHESATSTARBUCKS" ONES. But I suppose if you invited them to the beach with you, too, you might just win.

Of course, why not. They'd probably take some quality pics for me to post on myspace, or even for the family album.

It depends on how you get famous. Nobody's following around any top executives of Fortune 500 companies or any professional golfers or baseball players. They couldn't give a shit about what the country's leading neurosurgeons are doing on the weekend.

On the other hand, if you're well known simply for looking a certain way, then people will want to see what you look like.
