I got a tour of it a little while ago...
The place really is gorgoues inside, honestly better than any club I have seen, especially in North America..it is up there with Manumision in Ibiza..it is THAT good. The one major problem tho is the stupid escalator is where it was in lucid, yuck. That said there is a TON to like...where the old dj booth was, that is now a glass encased vip room that hovers over the dance floor. The dj booth is situated at the back there, and it is amazing, perfect view for everyhone with all these private booth type areas behind it... there is a bar that looks like a sauna, i mean EXACLTY like a sauna, another bar that has these robots circiling it, there is also a nother HUGE club up on the second floor, a full on movie theatre to chill out too..a bar serving booze while you wait in line... and the best is the bathroom...there is a bar shaped like a massive toilet and a dj spinng there. They also have a big stage like kool haus so they can have bands play there. Honestly I HATED lucid and have NOTHING to do with Circa but the place is just unbelievable.

Uh, Guvernment always brings in big name DJs.

Anyway, there is construction being done on Circa and they just got a $500,000.00 cash infusion from a new partner.

yea they always do....but y not have him at Decedence and make it worth the $50......
and if they did get more money then theres a better chance of them opening sooner then later.......

If that is the case......Armin > Circa. Grand Openings are usually disasters.

Guv doesn't compete with anyone, they compete with Guv.

Oh God...TIL opening was INSANE! However it was an awesome night, and I'm glad I went.

there are many reason circa has not open and this is a major one
Peter Gaitien lost his investors Hingson Corp because they were being for 20 Million. So losing for investor could but your club opening off for a while until you found someone else willing to do it. Lets hope he did and this club will finally OPEN!!!!!!

The main reason Gatien decided to part ways with the Hingson Corp was apparently more of principles... Gatien's all-inclusive mentality was a NO-NO for the corporation....

Quoted from The Star...

'Cheong says the break-up was based on competing values and visions for Circa.

"What I wanted to see was a club that showcased art and would be available for corporate events and mostly be available for charity events ...

"I still believe that he was going to make this club an artsy thing ... but there are other aspects of his programming ... (like) the transsexual and transgendered scene, I don't think it's part of the Hingson portfolio ... Circa might still be okay, but it's not okay for me."'

TIL's opening opening (as a club)?

or TIL's opening as an venue that now would play EDM?

Posted by techead on Mar-16-2007 02:12:

I wish them all well ,as I have said before Peter is a super nice guy, but I don't believe they have a liqor license yet, as usual the city is being anal about this and that is what is causing the delays, the club has been physically ready for a long time

Definitely read that article awhile ago, but totally agree...it's a great read. Gatien seems like a pretty creative guy, and I'm really looking forward to checking this club out. I don't care how long it takes to open - it looks like it'll be worth the wait.

Posted by rulzz on Mar-17-2007 05:46:

i knew the place was big but damn it looks massive

interesting read

What are you talking about? The club is nowhere near ready.

Posted by SpeedJat on Mar-17-2007 19:26:

The entrance still has Lucid on the doors, and they have small openings to look into the entrance, and you can see that there is still some work remaining. But until they solve the entrance problem (waiting across the street was just not safe), they might have problems getting a liquor license. Plus, didn't the city of Toronto say that they were no longer issuing licenses for new clubs.
