I will say I could have done without Hugs N Kisses (wont this track die already) and maybe a couple of more oldies but on the whole I thought he RIPPED IT! Heard quite a few tunes I have never heard before. I also enjoyed myself last night more than New Years Day. Good times.
And im surprised he played until 6:30 fack! I left just before 5:30 (stupid work) and I was sure that things were winding down for good. That must be the latest TiL has stayed open.
last night was absolutely amazing. i agree that people were a little pushy but that is expected when there are so many people. i was extremely impressed with his performance last night because i was a little disappointed with his show on new years day. manzone&strong and nathan barato playing great opening sets as well. left the club around 4:45 to eat.
ps. onion rings at frans with ranch dip is top notch.
Lawler played 6 tracks from New Years...
1) chiapet
2) airball
3) hugs and kisses
4) excursions
5) pryda - aftermath
6) gibbelfraten (sp?)
Crazy night indeed! Glad with Booka Shade postponed and I didn't miss this.
Got there before 11pm wanting to avoid any lineups. The club filled up very very fast, the vibe at midnight on the dancefloor felt like full-on 5am. Solid opening set by Manzone & Strong, they had the dancefloor stomping early in the night. Nathan Barato didn't let up with the intensity, just kept building it. Lawler started at 1:30, did an hour of techy goodness before progressing into his signature blend of dark, sexy, tribal and house. Ended up on the 2nd floor for a bit and it was somewhat alarming just how much the floor was shaking! Only recognized a few tracks during his set, guess he was airing a lot of new tunes for Miami and all I can say is those who will see him there are in for a treat. From around 4:30 it was time for some fun techy stuff, very Border Community style. After an hour of this my knees started to complain and I left thinking it was winding down. Ticked off now to realize that it went til 6:30!
The only downside of the night was the crowd, I attempted the dancefloor a few times and apart from being a mosh pit a lot of guys took the opportunity while squeezing past to be quite grabby as well. Firmly stomped on one such guy's foot before wisely retreating to the side area. The great part of the night was seeing tons of friends - thank goodness for their smiling faces!
p.s. I briefly met a guy who's on here - never got your name/handle but if you were front+right earlier in the night thanks for the smiles and stating that it'd be your mission to make me and my friend dance.

Got there really early 10:45....me and bossi were first ones on the dance floor warming up our feet for the Lawlification that was to ensue. The place did get pretty damn crowded and pushy around 12:30-2:30 but you just gotta know the right places to dance. I found a nice place against a railing right by the stage and chilled for a bit. Upstairs theres lots more room and the view from the railing is great, but the sound isnt as good up there and you dont feel the lawler vibe as intensely. Met alot of TAs up there for the first time too. Even got a few pics taken by Chinamon! finally......Once last call hit alot of room freed up and Lawler simply killed it. I could barely ID any tracks, but it was deep and dirty just the way i like. Amazing night, and to think, i was gonna go see BookaShade, that snowstorm was a blessing in disguise.
Joe & Fab played a killer warmup, very much like their New Years day set. Atmospheric but druggy enough to get your groove on.
Nathan (again) did a really great job of keeping the room at a steady bumping pace. I spent a lot of Nathan's set walking around, kind of feeling out the room, and there was lots of unanimous praise about how perfect of a warmup his sound was for Lawler.
I thought Lawler was better last night than his New Years day set. He was tighter and for a good 30-40 mins in the middle he fucking had that place by the balls. Just slammed that room! However, I could have done without the 6 (count them 6!) repeat tracks!
Anyone see me hanging from the statue thing for like 20 mins? HAHA
wow this was almost a perfect night. manzone and strong played an awesome intro set with some deep progressive tunes that were off the hook which led nicely into nathans set. Before his set I caught my buddies talking to Nathan so I just busted in to say whats up. nathan stepped it up and brought out some big tunes...it was something like 11:45 and I was already rockin out hardcore. I didn't think the night could get any better. Oh how I was wrong...LAWL for LAWLER this man killed it. Deep dark sexy tribal techy sex music. You know, LAWLERSTYLE. I had such a fun time. The only downside was as usual the pushy people and fucken psycho girls that throw themselves everywhere. I mean like..I feel uncomfortable when I keep hitting someone while dancing...so I try to back off and create my own space...so doesn't it bother other people when they constantly bump me for like 5 minutes straight?!? so annoying. other than that...GOOD TIMES!
Did anyone else see the GLOBAL TV weatherman?!?!? random.
