Most of my friends are in University or College same as me.
Some of the other people I used to hang out with however still act like they're in high school. Some are in college, others are working at the same restaurant they did in during high school. Most are doing better than I thought they would do, but maturity level wise - I don't think they've aged too much.

Piss off ![]() I have kept only two good friends from high school: both are undertaking post-secondary education (one in the sciences and one in business). |

I see all of mine all around the hood. meh same shit different year. rod posts on ta. a few are engaged. has anyone done anything spectacular? prolly not. do I care? prolly not lol.
I mean its etobicoke. etobi u run into everyone at some point in the year.
all of my high schools friends are pretty much doing the same thing.
Still in University. Only graudated from HS 4 years ago and i think 98% of my friends went to Uni/College...
So we'll see in a few years what happens, but most of my friends HS were the ppl who will be doing something in their lives.
One of my friends has been accepted to Med School @ McGill...can't imagine that one! One Smart kid.
Haha speaking about old high school friends I just ran into one at a Deli in my old neighbourhood.
Told me he's trying to stay outta trouble even though he was arressted 3 times in the past month! None of them were his fault of course
seems like most everyone thinks they are doing better in life than all his or her old highschool friends...
interesting.

as for me, i'm the only one who went to college and im working for a big company now doing computer support. getting a degree though soon
(21-23 age group)
all of my friends are successful. I don't hang out with those that can't set their lives straight, I was apparently a good enough judge of character back then to pick great friends.... well that and going to a highschool with a 99.9% university completion rate doesn't hurt...
Regardless of what industry you end up in, as long as it's what makes you happy and doesn't hurt those around you then it's good enough for me to view you as successful.
Group split up right after high school but from different ppl I know they all work, and none of them are in college or university

A lot are engaged/married/having kids.
A lot are still in school as well.

I find it interesting that alot of you feel the need to make a direct relation with being 'successful' and going to college/uni. Don't get me wrong, I'm a strong believer in higher education, and as a tradesman am constantly updating my skills and myself. It's the whole mentality of "well I went to college and am working for a huge company...my other friends?..meh..plumber, construction, mechanic etc", that gets under my skin sometimes. Myself along with 3 guys from HS are all in construction, all making close to 6 digits, will NEVER be out of a job, are all in very high demand and looking to retire by 55-60. On top of it all, you can throw us into almost any country in the world and can have a (well paying) job in a matter of days...how many "just graduated and can't find a job for months now" threads have there been again? Like I said I'm not bashing the ones that choose to pursue higher education, the world needs lawyers, doctors, engineers etc. just as much as it does tradesmen and some people are built with better hands on skills than academic.
As for judging ones success in life...imo job status, position, income, education are very small factors for me. One of my closest/longest friends grinds it out 6 days a week in a factory, making below average income, married and probably the most happiest/positive person I know...and for that I envy him.
