I dont see whats the big deal is... Lots of djs dont like playing back to back with anyone and he just happens to be one of them.

Honestly, I think the only problem with Tiesto is that, musically, he's grown AWAY from greatness. I mean - look at his first tracks, and now - shit... he went from being one of the greats, to horrendously mediocre with his new album. I was really, really sad when I heard it because Tiesto is what got me into trance - he built my addiction, and now... /sigh

Damn straight, and i had an awesome time...but so what, times change and so do opinions. i still like his old stuff though maybe someday he will decide to go back to his roots and start making good stuff once more

Tiesto hasn't changed much between now and his last appearance at the Docks. It's not like when you were first in line - or made your Tiesto shirt in your avatar he was still playing his old tracks from 5 years ago. Can't you see you're a bucket of contradiction. It seems like you're just jumping on the "I hate Tiesto" bandwagon and trying to cover yourself now.

I feel ya brother! It takes every once of energy nowadays NOT to say Tiesto is my favorite.

I'm the same way...I think you're just starting to feel how I did about 2.5 years ago in regards to productions. Just Be was Just Awful and I never pretended to like it. Honestly, I haven't liked any of his productions since maybe Traffic (overplayed), Adagio For Strings (also way overplayed) and maybe Forever Today. Except for the remix of that one classical track used in the movie Gallipoli, Parade of the Athletes was also garbage.

But then I saw him in December, 2004 and my faith was restored. June 2005 was meh but last December really sealed the deal for me. And the new album hasn't done anything to change that.

It's like my dad with Led Zeppelin. He started to get turned off after Physical Graffiti and that was that. It's not a life or death matter as some make it out to be!

lightshow is just admitting now that Tiesto isn't his favorite anymore. Leave him alone, haters.

by playing different music, does he mean rap/hiphop (such as @ the docks)?

or will he be touring with p diddy all together?

these are questions i pose to you.

Tiesto is a good introduction to Trance Music...its like Trance for Dummies.

I would think most of the younger crowd's first DJ they liked was Tiesto....the reason many of them find his productions less satisfying now is because they have developed a great understanding for the music or have developed an interest in a different style.

Jesus Christ, it was one track, in one set. Give it a rest already.

Uhh no. If what you were saying was true, I wouldn't like his older productions anymore because they were so "simple", which is actually the exact opposite - I love his old productions because he just made them simple, and good.

Tiesto was never great, DJ Tiesto was.

lol, that's actually a great point. I remember when, for Nyana I think, they dropped the "DJ" in his name. The argument was that he was an entertainer now and not just a Dj. I never liked that idea.

And I agree about the older albums. I still listen to his older stuff fairly often because that shit never gets old. Aside from the first Politics of Dancing, not many mix albums put a smile on my face like Magik 6.

I'm not saying that simple isn't better....all I am suggesting is that with the more time you spend listening to the music the more you develop an ear for what you like....his new productions have changed and quite honestly.....I can't stand most of what he produces now.....but my taste in not only trance but other genres has changed dramatically in the last 12 years.
