I like them both, I'll still listen to them even if they aren't in top 10.

I think they both have a chance, but who knows!

which one has been on radio1, had an essential mix etc ? I don't like the music of sander but he has a hell of a lot more credibility than tyas just for keeping his mouth shut.

IT'S IN THE REVELATIONS PEOPLE!!

Who cares who's the top dj? What does it even mean? Please, it's a dude playing records. I couldn't care less about their djing and as musicians... they may have crafted a few decent productions, but considering what we've heard in the eletronic scene over tha past 10-15 years, their efforts are highly forgettable.

Sean Tyas-Real driving tracks, but has had a kind of cookie cutter way with productions. Love them all but very similar. Dj sets, very slamming tracks one after another.

Both are different styles so its hard to say who's goign to be top 10. One pertains to a techier side and one more to driving side. Both are good in their own element imo. But Christopher Lawrence owns them both

ye , Sam Sharp was better

but i prefer seans remixes more even though the control freak remix was my fav track of last year, sean is more consistent on tracks.

that's not.

SvD, I reckon/hope everyone will be suffering from Tyas-betes by mid-year.

it's tyas-itis

sanders productions cant even be compared to sean tyas's. Sander is pushing the limits. Tyas is doing something that has been done over and over again, but i still dont mind his tunes.

Nope, that would be what people who love his work

Tyas-betes is like diabetes, only overexposure to off-beat basslines causes it, rather than sugar

What the fuck kind of shit thread is this???
I guarantee you Tyas and SVD have both seen this thread and are laughing at all these stupid posts.

Haha.

Cheers

If you hear a SvD track you can hear who made it, with Tyas there's thousands of alternatives.

I don't care for Tyas, but i hope Sander will stay of of the top ten. Marcel Woods and Marco V turned soft and cheesy when they received too much attention from the wide public, i'm afraid the very same thing could happend to Sander.

sander

he only seems to be getting more and more popular. just wait and see...

edit: what do you guys think of the purple haze/sam sharp/filterfunk(?) and sandler AKAs?

Posted by M.Johan on Mar-21-2007 17:52:

where's Tyas

he must appear......

Posted by isoterra on Mar-21-2007 17:54:

svd

sean tyas is an absolute joke of a dj, just spins his own stuff in a random order, occasionally throwing in one or two similar tracks from other artists. all in the same style too.. people will tire of it eventually. sander actually puts effort into crafting his sets & has a wider appeal

Tyas wins hands down. I know you really have much disdain for SVD for some reason, but hes leagues ahead of Tyas, he has demonstrated the ability to produce tracks at different bpms and not use the same kick in every single one. SVD may not be your cup of tea, but he has some skills and he has (at least imo) made some pretty good tracks in the past, so I think lumping him in with Tyas is abit unfair.

The one thing I hate is when Sander decides to make a tech-house track (Grasshopper) I see trance kids who dont know jack shit saying he is pushing new boundaries and re-inventing trance, and I'm like...wtf Stephan Bodzin has been making tracks like that for awhile

Posted by AndreaCKY772 on Mar-21-2007 18:20:

damn. i REALLY need to find out more about this sean tyas man. i only have the tracks "lift" and "mirella" of his on my comp. i keep hearing he sounds the same so i am going to listen to some more songs and remixes of his and see what the deal is.

so ur mad at him for bringing edm fans together, as appossed to everyone being on a different team....

marco v and svd are some of the most inovative and amazing producers on the planet, new tunes to me dont mean shit anymore, but new ideas make me go nuts, sanders new one Back By Any Demand is wicked, could be played by house jocks, tech jocks or trance jocks, thats the way it should be, the politics of edm make me want to puke and im so sick of them. Guys like them should be given a medal, cause they are doing it proper.

he is creating sounds that have never been used before and still making his sound big room appealing, which makes him a genious. Sean Tyas is a fine producer and a find dj im sure, but he isn't doing anything different, he is taking what has been done and putting his sig on it. Which IS FINE, but he can't be compared to someone who is breaking new ground on main room music, opening doors and uniting things.

sandler is my favorite alias of his by far. everything from 'chemistry' to 'theme song' to the mixes of 4 strings 'turn it around' are just really, really good. sam sharp, purple haze & filterfunk are pretty good too, not as much my style but still consistently good productions.

sean tyas is consistent too. consistently bad and unoriginal, that is. it all went downhill after 'mirella'.

No, because it shows that what they think is innovation is really someone copying whats already been done for ages.

If everyone were on the same team trance jocks might play stephan bodzin tracks in lieu of grasshoper, instead of acting like this is the newest and freshest sound when in reality its recycled and borrowed.

And come on man, I'm not trying to bash SVD in here, I think he has done some quality work in the past, I loved Punk'd, but to say this is just fucking ridiculous and shows that either 1. You dont listen to enough music 2. You don't know that other music exists (being another problem in itself).... ->

Actually Tyas is probably trying to come up with a witty response to post on his site, something definitely including the words "Sander Van Doorn", "fuck", "fucking", "dj mag top 100", and "harder kick".
