I had one of the best WMCs ever. Not only was it super fun taking photos for RA but every party that I went to rocked but the Juicy Party.....Mark Knight was amazing and they had awesome hula hoop dancers but as soon as Gabriel and Dresden came on I wanted to leave....they were horrible.

Danny Howells @ Pawn Shop was SICK and what a party to start off my WMC.
Cielo Party @ The Raleigh Hotel - Teddy Patterson and Behrouz...OMFG!!!....dancing in the sand bare-foot was lots of fun.
DT @ Twilo - Prob the best set this WMC. Danny fucking killed that place with mind blowing TECHNO!!!
Steve Bug @ BED - First time seeing him and he really impressed me.
Sander on the Space Terrace - besides the usual drama at Space, Sanders set was mind blowing.....he played till friggin 2:30!
SOS @ The Fifth - They started off kinda slow but around 2am the place filled up and the music picked up....way up. I was loving it. Got to meet Sasha's dad and holy shit...that old fella can party lol.
Sunday School for Degenerates @ Pawn Shop - Best party this WMC. I was on the patio most of the might but went inside to see Adam Beyer for the first time and could not believe my ears......talk about a mind fuck....WOW!

I didn't have to put up with any drama this year, got to hang out with my friends, got to hit up some wicked parties, got to see my favorite DJs, got to check out some DJs I never saw before, the females were out of control this year, and most important I didn't come home broke!!! I will post my pics soon.

agreed one of the best WMCS I had this year..

Chakra was a real nice place but the vibe wasnt there for the lineup wetgrooves had that night. Nikki beach had a great vibe for the wetgrooves beach party.

i dunno, i guess some of you guys are just missing my point here.

im not asking if you had a good time or not, im asking how much longer you think wmc will last? cuz as much as i would like it to last until im 40, i highly doubt its got another 5 years.

too many cops, fire marshall bullshit, condos going up in downtown, everything is just too heated... the 24 hour clubbing district in miami is going down and with it i think wmc.

I agree. This was my first time @ WMC2007/Ultra and i'm kind of dissapointed. Mainstage design & lasers (or should I say: 1 laser) were not what i expected from an event like Ultra. and VIP tickets ? please, what a joke. DO NOT buy vip tickets for this event. it is sooo NOT worth the money. I really enjoyed PVD's & Sander's set though. rain did not help make this event any better. threy lost power on the mainstage for few minutes.

Def NOT the same...This year was by far the worst year I've experienced.

My first WMC was in 2004 and it was much different even up until last years.

A lot of things were sold out this year, cops were EVERYWHERE. Not to mention the RIDICULOUS prices of tix, etc.

All in all I agree with you on it not lasting much longer, at least down here.

If you've been conferencing for a while you'd notice the difference.

I've gone to 6 WMC's and this one was the best.
Most people on this board like trance primarily and trance isnt that good anymore (sorry but true).I loved every party i went to,and so did everyone i ran into.S.S.D was insane,anyone who went to that had a great time.
Great year and sorry to all those people who didnt have a good time because i sure did,and never had any problem getting into anything at all and for that matter i had tons opf free drinks so ididnt end up spending hardly anything.

It was better for smaller parties & smaller DJs

cuz seeing Sander twice owned for me and made it my favorite

but in the sense that it's changed with the bigger venues & getting sold out blah blah it's worse...my solution is that I will NOT go to any big parties anymore and spend truckloads of money for a sardine fest...

too many little retard kiddies jumping the bandwagon on big events.
Small venues + DJ's > everything else.

All the clubs/shows I went to in downtown Miami (aside from Ultra) were disasters. I don't really think Ultra is going anywhere. And aside from that, if the clubbing district in downtown does go down, I don't see why all the clubs in South Beach (which are a hundred times better anyways) couldn't continue to host a slew of amazing DJs for a week in March for years to come.

I was talking to someone who works for the city and all, and asked him whats with all the fire-marshall's and what not. And I think that we can come to a logical understanding.

We all know how packed Space has gotten at times and other venues, where they feed the club to full capacity. There have been clubs getting burned out that were way overloaded like that of New York and other's.. now, the City has full responsability to follow up on how the owners/promoters are handling the venue correctly without filling it up to full capacity. I for one think that it is a good idea that greedy owner's or promoters get some type of control on the amount of people that go to an event. It sucks that some shows do get sold out, but they are expected to be... I'm one who goes against Sardine style packed venues and if Fire Marshall's go and do their job correctly then all good. Its a whole total different story if they just go to a party without an excuse and just mess up with it, but looking it from a city's point of view, it all comes down to the safety of those attending.. if something were to happen everyone will know where the blame will go to.

I did NOT see any incident other that Space problem. And if there was a lot of police in downtown, then that's a good thing, it needs it, and its also good to have them present at parties, because I saw some real uneducated drug addicts everywhere, and those are the ones that end up bringing the scene down.

PS: Now the politics on the Park west district its a WHOLE different story from that of WMC so I don't associate it with the conference. WMC has grown.. I DO think that the weather had a lot to do with a lot of the vibe, and I think that this WMC had the best free all around parties quality DJ's all over the place.

Ya i've herd that for years and you would like hiphop better anyway.So make a switch because obviuosly you dont know how to pic your parties and that is the main reason you didnt have fun.Try showing up a little earlier it will make a world of diffrence.Seriuosly.

as far as cops go... i agree we need more in miami but only during wmc, just on the sidewalks to keep things under control. if you have drugs don't be a fucking idiot, act normal, & keep it in a girls bra if possible. lol.

last year i went to wmc with my girl abby & our 2 guys. i can't remember what club we were going to... i think it was space to see pvd. anyways we found a cheap parking lot, parked, & were walking to the club. well there was some homeless guy sitting on the sidewalk. we walked passed him & next thing you know he's following us, he follows us maybe 3 blocks, next thing i know my man whispers to us that he has a hold of his pants & was holding them mid thigh and was clearly jacking off. not gonna lie it was probably the scariest wmc moment...

agreed how one cant have fun at wmc and dwell on the negatives, when the positives by far out weigh them is beyond me. go to what makes you happy and fuck everything else. pissing about the lines at space during wmc is the equivalent to bitching about the rain in seattle, its just a fact of life, deal with it. and no matter what you say SPACE DOES NOT SUCK. endostory.

anyhow wmc is better every year, theres more people coming which is all that matters...its a cash cow for that week, and attracts a ton people in one week

there are big huge flag things all over the city with wmc, on buses and shit, miami is clubland, and unless that changes wmc is staying put

not to mention south beach on its own with or without the 24 hr district is where alot happens. the whole scene there is a perfect match for it, better than vegas which has no beach, thats the end of that deal, no beach, no breeze, no dope hotel pools that aren't hot as hell no wmc.

miami is king for that reason when it comes to the wmc, and as far as fire marshalls and all, its been happening to a few parties every yr on the beach for many years, yet more people come every year and miami makes ALOT of money

I always have the best time and I hate it when people bitch and moan. I had to stay away from a few friends I went down with because they were seeing the negatives in everything while I was loving it. "The line sucks. The crowd sucks. They music sucks." Well, don't fucking come if you're not patient, or if all you're going to do is criticize the people and the music. I'm on vacation, in a clubber's paradise, and I'm loving every minute of it. I know things won't go perfectly well and I've planned for that. Fuck the haters. I can't wait for '08 and I'll go by myself if it means I won't have to listen to complainers.

This year's WMC kicked ass....all you have to do is plan your week- pick your parties and try to stick to your picks. That way you can see all the DJs you want, not worry about waiting in line, and just enjoy being on F*ing vacation with your friends! Sure, the music wasn't always the greatest, but when it was on, it was ON!! (Like Above & Beyond @ B.E.D. or Andy Moor @ Cafeteria) Good vibes are supposed to be what its about not bitching and whining about "oh the weather sucked" or whatever. A little bit of tropical rain won't fucking kill you.
