Can't remember the title but there was a track Paul van Dyk used to play in his sets a lot that was all about protesting war...the beat had a "PvD-Style" kickdrum, I just can't remember the title. If anyone can remember the title it would be appreciated
Kaycee - Millennium stringz
astral projection - open society
No trance tracks i can think of but:
Daft Punk - Television Rules the Nation
all the others listed are remixes or bootlegs of protest songs.
what about that timo maas track. was it pictures?
every trance song is a protest against shite pop music and low quality tabs
forget trance and check out late 80s and early 90s german e-beat, new-beat, or techno. several tracks from era that have a militaristic theme. for instance:
'new scene - out of control II' opens with a smaple of martin sheens's character in 'apocolypse now' and samples various people on the war in vietnam such as kennedy, and other politicians i can't id. someone talks about how such a waste the war has been. its a perfect companion to today's antiwar events.

But unlike regular protest songs were the lyrics are filled with the usual distressed message, the vocals here are a vehicle for hope, a beacon of shining light in this miserable city. The song also strongly reflects on the social divide and the economic crisis which has stemmed from failing multinationals without a plan to carry the Detroit automotive industry into the current millenia. |
the term electro
