is this actually real? damn... nothing on either of the first two cd's even classifies as a 'classic' yet (and hopefully most of them never will )...

It's just a promotional tag. Similar to all those "Very Best Ultimate Dance Mix Hits '96" type of comps.

15 tracks a disc so i'd say it's either mixed or filled with edited versions. Not that i would buy it anyway.

They're easy and cheap to produce, that's why. If even a couple thousand sell, they'll make a decent return on the liscensing costs.
