Fucks sake, do you really just expect a machine to do all the work for you?

I really can't decide if you're just taking the piss or not, but either way, wow about beatmatching as accurately as possible and then making corrections when necessary?

I use Ableton to produce, not to DJ, but that was a nice try. Next time, do your homework.

Did I miss the memo about the Idiot Parade on here today?

you're a dick for looking down on somebody else. Aren't you supposed to be the next thing in trance or somethin'?

You should be more respectful.

edit - trance is dead buddy.

Hard stuff, you know Hard Trance, Happy Harcore, Hardstyle, Hardburger with Cheese, Hard Cocktail - any genre as long as it's hard!

Edit:

Too fucking perfect.

Daft Punk - HARDer, better, faster, stronger?

It says it's hard, so it's gotta be A+

In all seriousness, my original question was never answered: What is so hard to understand about beatmatching as closely as possible and then making corrections with the platter?

I really don't see the issue here...

Behold, my arse.

I've heard a saying the harder it is the easier it is.

you'd think pioneer would have know about this or do they I don't know but the last month has been so annoying not been able to mix with cds properly.

Thanks for reading my rant I feel better now.

If you're having trouble with the pioneers. Contact them, get a new pair and try them out. If the problem persists than you should check on your djing. (E.G - check your cue and so forth, don't touch the wheel too much, etc). I'm no Jeff Mills so don't take it for granted, just make sure to contact the suppliers before you post something like that in here...

I certainly hope this to be true. I've been mixing on Numark TT1625s for just over a year now, and I've finally gotten pretty damned good at locking my beats. Now if I can ever free up the funds for CDJs, I will test this assertion. I'm excited and nervous at the same time.

Posted by winston on Apr-02-2007 20:49:

Ok you can try this.

Cue your track, check the time e.g::

09:07: 06 02 (press pause on cdj).

delicately move the jog wheel in a anti-clockwise direction -

the time cue should be going backwards. If the seconds are skipping or moving forward, it could be the jog-wheel.

Try moving your cue forward.

hope this helps.

thanks for not being arsey

I know its the cdj's as i spent ages trying to mix two of my songs that wouldn't go together. It gets to a point where moving the pitch just one notch 0.05 +/- makes it to fast or to slow hence having to touch the platter to keep it in but why pay all that money (1000) to have to do that!

If you're not happy with your product contact Pioneer.

selling one of them and getting cdj1000 on thursday the pitch on them is finer so should solve the problem as I will be able to move
the pitch on the 1000 if the 800 is being a bitch.

thanks for the advice just tried but the jog wheels are fine

how do u get ur music

Posted by sterilis on Apr-02-2007 22:17:

have to agree with the majority of this thread. the problem lies with the user not the product. i use 800 mk2s and i do 1 minute mixes and never have to adjust the platter. if i do its a simple touch every now and again. also djing is about multi tasking if you cant control your beats and eq at the same time your in the wrong business. many djs do these do plus loop and record edits at the same time. if you want the machines to do it for you get ableton and auto beat match.

+1. You don't even have to be a decent DJ to realize that sometimes you need to adjust EQs while moving the platter.

Posted by Ministerio on Apr-03-2007 01:18:

What? So you mean theres no way to beatmatch without me having to adjust the platter while eqing, or even turning on the mixer/decks....or even loading it up with a wikkid track?
Pfft..

I'm out.

Posted by finnyarmstrong on Apr-03-2007 09:44:

NEVER SAID I COULDN'T ALL I SAID WAS THAT ITS ANNOYING HAVING TO, ALSO YOU DO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH CDJ800'S A SIMPLE TOUCH IS STILL ADJUSTING THE PLATTER. THERE'S AT LEAST £1000 WORTH OF EQUIPMENT IN A PAIR OF 800'S AND I THINK NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET CLEAN MIXINGS WITH THEM IS WRONG FOR THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THEY COST. ALSO ABLETON IS CHEATING.
