Rickey Gervais FTW!! I have a poster of him above my computer, if there was a nobel prize in comedy he desrves it.

David Brent, "When people say to me: would you rather be though of as a funny man or a great boss? My answer's always the same, to me, they're not mutually exclusive"

"Ive created an atmosphere where I'm a friend first, boss second. Probably entertainer third."

A classic scene from Extras...Andy Millman (ricky Gervais) who is a movie extra comes to see Patrick Stewart on a movie set to pitch him a script, and finds out about Stewarts new movie idea.....lol.....the outtakes for this are amazing, took them over 100 time before they could stop laughing

Is that the one with all the quotes on it? If so, I have the exactly same one right above my computer monitor, lol. I idolize David Brent

"It's a comedy, is it?"

"No"

LMAO

Patrick Stewart is absolutely brilliant. Hands down one of the finest actors in the business IMO, and to see him do things like this, or The Simpsons' Stonecutters episode...just pure thespian genius.

Great post.

That's the beauty of Extras...every episode features a really big extra (Samuel L Jackson, Kate Winslet, David Bowie, Ian McKellan, Patrick Stewart etc...) and all of them make complete fools of themselves. For example, this scene with Sir Ian McKellan....Andy Millman comes in for an interview to do a play directed by McKellan, and he begins to explain his method to acting....soo funny

I almost died laughing during Ben Stiller's guest appearance. "Bye nerd..."

Another outrageous scene is where Andy walks in on his agent masturbating to a revealing pen. Sooo awkward.

That's awesome. Do you by any chance listen to "The Ricky Gervais Show' podcast? If so, I'm sure you idolize Karl Pilkington as well.. the man is out of this world!

Oh, how I love british comedy!

I can't believe Roy actually may have helped Pam and Jim get together. The characters on this show always surprise me. Toby was hilarious in this one as well, putting up with Ryan and Kelly bitchin' each other out all day.

A coworker of mine let me borrow Season 1 and Season 2 dvd. I watched both all day yesterday This is definetly my fave show now. And Jim is something else

Posted by pete242 on May-06-2007 14:51:

Dwight: Identity theft is not a joke Jim. Millions of families suffer every year.

Jim: MICHAEL!
Dwight: Yea that's real funny, MICHAEL!!

No, you're not the only one. I think the latest fad in comedy is having people make complete asses of themselves on screen; no doubt we have American Idol to thank for this new wave of steaming garbage.

The premise itself is dumb, but I'm sure a lot of people identify with it (low-responsibility jobs at shitty workplaces where everybody has the same intellectual and maturity level that they had in grade 9 - not that everybody who likes the show is necessarily in this boat). Even the British version doesn't seem to have much to offer in the classic Britcom sense. All in all, worth the occasional chuckle but mostly annoying.

The fad everyone looks for these days is the not so pretty people and reality on TV, to be honest after awhile it becomes a bore. But at the same time there are tons of people who work in office environments that can relate to this(myself included) that dig the subtle humor.

It is doing so well that there is rumor it will be placed in the 9 pm slot next season.

HUGE episode tonight? Who's excited for this one

My guess - Karen, if anyone, gets the job and moves away (I really doubt Michael or Jim would leave the show). That would set things up for Jim and Pam nicely.

Posted by Skipper on May-17-2007 12:27:

Ooooh, that's right! Tonight's the finale!
I thought Pam's rant last week was kind of lame but it will certainly make for a good episode tonight.

Posted by kotsy on May-18-2007 01:07:

Well, that was a mediocre episode to say the least. Surprised that Ryan got the job. Did anyone else notice that Jim drove back to Scranton without Karen.. haha.

Posted by Skipper on May-18-2007 01:10:

Yeah, I thought there would be more with jim and pam, but I guess that would make things pretty predictable.

I like that they left it open - makes you wonder what's going to happen next season.

Posted by Irishaddict on May-18-2007 02:04:

the british version.

owned.

Apparently the girl who plays Pam was celebrating the fact that the show got renewed this week, when she slipped on some stairs and broke four bones in her back. Haven't seen how serious it all is yet, but HOLY S*** that's gotta suck.

Posted by Dj Smitty20 on May-18-2007 08:30:

wtf? The best show on TV is Star Trek Deep Space Nine and you all know it. It's on in 30 minutes on CITY TV!!
