Are you people retarded? You'll usually be OK with 20-25 over the limit on a freeway (just keep an eye out), but on city streets you will ALWAYS get a ticket if you're more than 15 over.

Just don't go 30 over the limit on the main roads. There's absolutely no reason why you'd need to go that fast; guaranteed you'll eventually come to a red light or come up behind someone else who's going much slower (in the left lane).

get this... the one and only time i got pulled over by a cop wasn't even for speeding. it was b/c he thought my passenger was laughing at him (which he was, but still ) as he past us. so i'm driving along york mills and the cop pulls out of nowhere and rides my ass for a good 5 min. every time i switched a lane he would as well without signaling and he was no more than 2-3 feet away from my rear bumper the entire time. i made a left at an intersection and he went through it but i guess he wasn't done with us so he turned around and chased me down and finally pulled me over. he proceeded to insult me and my friend and then pulled me aside and verbally abused me while my friend and his rookie partner looked on in disbelief. i swear i've never seen anyone so juiced up on whatever i really thought that was it for me. i was too freaked out and never got his badge number or any other info so i couldn't report it later on. he never did charge me with anything since he had absolutely nothing on me.

Dude, you're brown.

All joking aside, I was pulled over for this reason in Montreal in December when I went to drop Jenny off at the airport. I confirmed that it was racial profiling, but I couldn't be bothered to make a fuss about it.

I rented a massive Ford Expedition to help with all the shit she had to move back to France and I was driving down a crowded 15 (Decarie) and weaving a bit because I was so frustrated with the traffic. I spot up ahead that there is a cop so I slow down and stay in my lane (middle). I had my new black face covering shades (those huge glam ones) so I'm sure I looked like a pimp lol. The cop pulls to my left and I could see in my peripheral that she was looking at me so I turn my head and flash a fayraree smile and a nod. She continues to stare so now I'm thinking . At one of her side-by-sides, I took my glasses off so she could look at me clearly and I waved, kind of looking confused, like, "what's the problem?". lol not a good idea. I should have just ignored her.

She follows me as I go east on the 720 and sometimes pulls beside me and then goes back to following me. I get off at St. Laurent and finally she flashes her lights and pulls me over.

She asks for my licence and rental papers and then asks if I live in Montreal. I say no. So she asks what am I doing here. I say taking my fiancee to the airport. She says, are you sure you don't live her. Then I smile and I say no I don't. LOL like WTF!!!

She takes a good 20 minutes in her car and I call Jenny to talk about wtf is going down. Jenny's like I should take all her info and complain about her. I said maybe she saw me weaving so she wants to write me a ticket, but she never mentioned it.

She comes back and asks me why it seems that the last digit of my driver's licence appears smudged. I said it was because of its age (4 yrs old) with constant rubbing against my wallet as I take it in and out. Plus I point out that the last four digits are my month and day of birth so the smudge is irrelevant.

Then she asks me to sign a blank piece of paper so she can see my signature. When I do, she compares it with my signature on the card and says it's not a perfect match. I could have lost it there, but I keep my cool and say that I have other documents in the car (I brought my work with me) so I can show her banking documents with my signatures so she can review more data. Then she says it won't be necessary and the reason she pulled me over is because there have been instances where people use fake id. I wasn't sure how she could tell that by seeing me in my pimpin white 2007 Expedition, but oh well, that's the life of an Arab-looking brown person!

to make you guys feel good

an hour ago i was driving on young st going north, passed sheppard and saw a cop driving normally, maybe 50-60 so w/e there like 5 6 cars going the same speed
approaching a red light i saw a right lane open up and it had no cars so i passed everyone in that lane and went though a green light, at this point some cars turned left some made a right to gas stations etc so its just me and a cop, he was maybe 2-3 cars length behind me in my lane..i keep looking in the mirror every 5-10 second not really giving a shit when at one point i look and i see a van flying from the opposite side (maybe ran a red light i dont know) and fucking smokes the cop car from the right side, i was so shocked i almost got into an accident myself, i mad e a u-turn and went back to see if anyone is injured, cop came out and asked me to be a witness, some punk ass brown kid maybe 17y old was arrested at the spot, i dont really do that shit but honestly if i was driving 3 seconds earlier it could have been me so i told the cops what i saw. Also funny when a cop gets hit there is about 30 cruisers that show up in less than 2 minutes lol

They have to. 50 kph over the limit or more is considered racing or careless driving, not just speeding. Get caught doing that again and it will be suspended for 60 days. It's all in the HTA.

Again I must ask - what the hell were you doing going 162, in Toronto, where the traffic flow is usually 120-130 on the best days and not more than 10 during rush hour?

that is cuz everyone in TO is always in a damn rush to get from point A to point B. I always see ppl driving much faster. I always have ppl passing me and I drive quite fast myself.

Posted by SkyHigh on Apr-14-2007 16:50:

I wasn't driving in toronto..I was on 402 close to Sarnia.
The cop gave me 4 points at that time i didn't a full G license.

I spend about two hours a day on the road, including the 400 and the 401. It's very, very rare that I see anybody going over 130.

Maybe people just look like they're going fast to you because you're one of the ones who chugs along at 60?

NW mfin A

"Fuck tha Police"

Right about now NWA court is in full effect.
Judge Dre presiding in the case of NWA versus the police department.
Prosecuting attourneys are MC Ren Ice Cube and Eazy muthafuckin E.
Order order order. Ice Cube take the muthafuckin stand.
Do you swear to tell the truth the whole truth
and nothin but the truth so help your black ass?

Why don't you tell everybody what the fuck you gotta say?

Fuck tha police
Comin straight from the underground
Young nigga got it bad cuz I'm brown
And not the other color so police think
They have the authority to kill a minority

Fuck that shit, cuz I ain't tha one
For a punk muthafucka with a badge and a gun
To be beatin on, and throwin in jail
We could go toe to toe in the middle of a cell

Fuckin with me cuz I'm a teenager
With a little bit of gold and a pager
Searchin my car, lookin for the product
Thinkin every nigga is sellin narcotics

You'd rather see me in the pen
Then me and Lorenzo rollin in the Benzo
Beat tha police outta shape
And when I'm finished, bring the yellow tape
To tape off the scene of the slaughter
Still can't swallow bread and water

I don't know if they fags or what
Search a nigga down and grabbin his nuts
And on the other hand, without a gun they can't get none
But don't let it be a black and a white one
Cuz they slam ya down to the street top
Black police showin out for the white cop

Ice Cube will swarm
On any muthafucka in a blue uniform
Just cuz I'm from the CPT, punk police are afraid of me
A young nigga on a warpath
And when I'm finished, it's gonna be a bloodbath
Of cops, dyin in LA
Yo Dre, I got somethin to say

Fuck the police (4X)

if im on the 401, i average 140. most i say drive 125-130. but that all depends on how heavy traffic is

If you don't even drive, how can you possibly claim to know how fast other people drive? In most cars, it's a strain to see the speedometer from the passenger seat (not impossible but uncomfortable), so I'm guessing that most of the time you aren't even fully aware of how fast the car you're in is going. I certainly never paid much attention to that stuff before I learned to drive.

When I drive in the 401 I think I usually average between 20 and zero. If you're talking about the 401 outside the Toronto core, then 125-130 in the left lane is probably fair. If you consistently go 140, you're going to get busted eventually - I did the same thing for several months and after the 2nd speeding ticket decided it wasn't worth the risk to save 10 minutes of time on a 3 hour trip. Some cops in some regions will look the other way up to around 125, but any faster than 130 and you'd better be damn sure that there aren't any around.

Even so, 140 is not 160. That really is crazy - one has to go with the flow, however fast or slow it is, and traffic never flows at 160.
