On that note, I love hip-hop venues. My humps, my humps, my humps my humps my humps....

As a more serious note, I don't know what you can do because I realize promoters have little power, but I hope these experiences teach you how to shape your parties and contracts better. I know you have a good following on here even if I don't attend a lot of your parties, but it will diminish if people constantly have problems.

And you're right about the Made Events thing, which is why I don't usually bitch, because I know it took a lot of trial & error AND connections (not to mention money) to make their parties consistently go off as well as they do.

I'm taking all of the negative comments I find on this and other sites, and in IM conversations, and compiling them for a meeting at the venue next week. You better believe T-NY will not get off the hook with the amount of ripping off they did.

The horror stories are worse from people I am speaking to online. People with advanced tickets weren't being honored because someone was caught scalping his on line outside. So no one's was honored for a good while, so people who had paid 20$ for their advanced were asked to pay another 30-40$ at the door on top of that, many of them left.

Please, any of these concerns, I beg of you to send an email to [email protected]. It can only help our cause, when we go in there angry next week. GHB, it's not even the contract that wasn't specific enough, they flat-out breeched 90% of anything in the contract... we'll have the last laugh and I will make sure the bouncers are taken care of.

i just want to start by thanking everyone who came and who attempted to come. your support is the bedrock of this industry and scene and we are indebted to you for that.

I also would like to make a huge, and that is an understatement, big huge thanx to marcello. you worked tirelessly to make this event a success, from the bottom of my heart I wanted to say thank you!

I also want to apologize to all of you who had a bad experience, the treatment you got was uncalled for and as a promoter I feel responsible for my constituents who were treated poorly.

as for the difficulties of the night, it breaks my heart to have had you guys have such a difficult time and for no good reason. it is frustrating to hear these horror stories some of you experienced. there is no excuse to be treated that way and every effort will be made so that your experience at our parties in the future will only have positive memories. we try so hard to create events for you guys and it is so unfortunate that staff and venue make it so difficult by their actions.

despite these difficulties, we know that your support is unwavering and therefore we will not quit in trying to bring you guys the music you want to hear and experience. we will continue to try and find a way to bring it to you under the best and most comfortable circumstances.

thank you all so much, I can tell you all that Funabashi, Talla, and Vic all had a blast and they thank you as well!!!

I wasn't trying to be a dick, but do you have attorneys to help with your contacts? If you do, why not sue for defamation of company name? You stake your name to provide clients and when the contract is breached, there is damage.

You made the comment about respecting Made Events. I'm sure Mike Bindra has an army of attorneys backing him. It adds $5 to your cover, but at the same time, assures this sort of thing usually doesn't happen.

Hello! review

i won't go into what else was crappy about the night cuz there was so much i can't even list them here and theres no need to repeat all the negative stuff since we all experienced it

DEF **cheers** to marcello and krew for bringing the talent to the venue, Gerad for bringing the cdjs, and overall trying to manage the event to the best of ur ability Music was great after 12:30ish...Talla was awesome and from what i heard of Vic he was def banging it out

but having an oddly mixed crowd (edm/hiphop/younguns) there sure made for a weird vibe overall and drama overall well i was straight sober so i was able to witness it... but i guess i was hoping for a vibe similar to Seho and LOVE and other smaller venues (guess that was a lil too ideal eh? ) im not even sure what can be done about that

but got to see ppl i haven't seen in a long time, including one very WASTED birthday boy (Jeff) who was trying to keep his balance when he found me on the dance floor hehe it was kinda cute ^__^ awesome seeing bree - Happy Bday!!! (and with her...surprise! *indy* hiya CHICA <3) before they went to Loco Dice

so here are a few pics

pretty venue overall, would like to see future events (such as M.I.K.E. and esp. Sean Tyas/Dogzilla) go MUCH smoother. and hell, with working equipment and better tweaked speakers to boot!

Regardless of any mishaps, the party was hot. Since you want some criticisms, here are the few problems i had. As everyone said, the wait outside, but i simply threw down a little paper to skip that. The youth of the crowd, but what can you do about that! The lighting was pretty bad, not sure if the clubs lights are bad or it the tech just didn't know how to do lighting for a trance party. Lastly, I almost got into a fight because some dudes jumping directly onto me while i was sitting down. The venue was a bit strange, but i liked the seating and the intimacy of the space.

I think with continued parties there it will definitely be better, although i liked it alot. Talla, victor, and funabashi each ripped it up. Thanks for bringing them to the city.

Some suggestions that i don't even know if T would consider. Perhaps you can contract to have someone work the door with their retarded staff, or at least have a monitor. Your contract should have specific damages clauses for failing to do things. i.e., keeping the open bar. Im sure T had protection in their side if the crowd wasn't big, etc..., so you should protect yourself if they fail under the contract. Since you say they violated about 90% of the contract, do you actually have some sort of damages clause??? If you don't get a new lawyer, or get a lawyer if you don't have one. Don't underestimate the power of a well written contract.

as for suing for defamation (as in the above post), sorry but there is nothing to that, so its a waste of time to even think about it.

we should have an nyta fundraiser lol everybody throws up 5 dollars well get a outdoor venue and some trance lovin bouncers

Posted by DaCarez on Apr-14-2007 23:51:

This review is lame and to the core but everyone else said pretty much what i was going to say.

you are tres cutie, miss mel! so teeny! I think you def met me at a funny moment, right when Shine came on! lol dont think I lvoe a song more than that one!

Miss Bliss: I know babe, the whole shit was sketchy/skanky. I wasn't even positive at first if the guy was trying to regulate the dresscode or see my shit, but it became QUITE clear after. (Plus, as lyss said, it wasn't just me, they were being scum to other women, AND even men because they weren't even letting some guys in for no reason!) they are low-life bouncers not the fuckin president. Dont know why bouncers think they have so much powere these days. Since I was already a bit buzzed REALLY I had to restain my mouth, because I wanted to see talla and support the boys party.

I had a great time....the music was good all night. I can't believe the shit I saw go on in regards to the staff. Bullshit up down left and right. I feel bad for everybody that got screwed over at the door....those guys were complete asshats. Props to Mike and Marcello for everything you guys did to make things better. It was totally out of your hands. Good seeing the usual suspects out.

sheila and myself own seven acres of beautiful countryside in Rhode Island......its a three hour drive from NYC but its a great venue with absolutely no drama...

between ourselves we have all the equipment,,Dj's and people that know how to throw parties....

Ive spoke alot about this to massivenyc and Djtek already...

also i built a small pub in the garden.....

Posted by Twilogoddess on Apr-15-2007 16:27:

I have to agree there was no vibe but I had a good time anyway. Music was great. Victor was awesome, better than Talla. I was standing on the top of the stairs proceeding to go down when this girl (from the hip hop party) was going up and bumped into me, my drink flew down the stairs. She didn't even notice and kept going! Other than that the night was too short it felt like I was there for 5 minutes. It was nice meeting you Melly & Eco. And great to see the usual suspects. Mike & Eco you did a great job.
