It somewhat was...
Trance/House is not the way of life for everyone you know heh.

Although it's one of my favorite genre's, it doesn't stop me from liking other music genre's as well. I'm pretty sure that's the case with a lot of people here on TA.

You made an ignorant comment as well. He "talks" black because I believe he was raised in Jamaica. Just like if you were raised in another country, you would have their accent.

I think he's half jamaican as well, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

edit: chaccaron video made me go el oh el.

i actually think sean paul is one of the most decent rappers(?) out there. I barely understand the lyrics but the melodies are very catchy and pretty much every song he releases becomes a hit, plus he's from toronto as far as i know so it makes it even better. Honestly those lil john and lil scrappy or w/e the fuck their names are garbage compared to him.

Really? I can't stand him. Ya his songs are catchy and they're always hits. But they all sound EXACTLY the same to me, and I can't stand his whiney voice.

That's just me though.

<3 <3

BTW, I'm not saying you people should like it, just pointing out that for a group of people who are supposed be so "open-minded" about their tastes, you sure do hate anything that isn't trance/edm.

I'll admit that the middle one doesn't sound exactly like the others...but I dunno, the 1st and last I still think sound similar. Maybe it's just his voice I can't stand (well no, it's his songs too). But I absolutely HATE his voice. Everytime I hear it I think of steel drums. Hehe

+1
I don't listen to hip hop as much anymore, but I definitely like the flow of his music.

Thats not the case, i am open minded to music and im sure everyone else is. But sometimes there are certain artists that just strike a nerve with thier music. Specialy when thier stuff is over played on the radio and everywhere you go you hear the same songs over and over.

Posted by lol internet on Apr-16-2007 05:11:

totally off topic, but someone ID the song that's playing in the first 10 seconds of this youtube clip.

since the threads active and all lol.

that's fine you may hate him or his voice, maybe you just dont like the music genre/style at all. I used to listed to this shit back in highschool so I don't hate it like you do.. Like i said i'd rather listen to him than to other shit that comes out these days.

and EuG, how is he pretending to be black? he's from Jamaica ffs lol
and the so called "gibarish" is reggae, just so you know.

I had my own Top 40 and rap phase myself. I think we all did. Haha
But ya Sean Paul was definitly not a singer that ever found his way on my playlist. Difference in tastes

Posted by _EuG_ on Apr-16-2007 05:17:

I was never realy into hip hop or rap ever, but if there is one artist that i can listen to and enjoy, its EMINEM ... i actualy have his second CD. I have no clue what he sings now tho. Also Dre. is ok in my books.

Well you should research before talking shit about an artist.. He was born in Jamaica and then moved to Toronto, not sure where he lives now.

Well im not gonna research someone that i dont like right. I always thought he was a white boy who pretended to be Jamaican / Caribbean . I mean it is a common thing in our society these days for white folks to Act / talk / dress like african americans.

No, I moved home for personal reasons and to go to school. There is tons of work in Calgary and all of Alberta. So I'm sure it'd be easy for them to find something, of course depending on what they want to do.
