I dunno to be honest
yes theres a lot of Melbourne event threads, yes it clutters it up a bit and probably does actually stifle worthwhile discussions about other stuff.
Yeah fuck it, chuck all the club nights into one thread, biggies like FMF, Armin Only, Godskitchen where people are likely to travel just for it or are part of a larger tour should be allowed to carry on as is.
The major problem is that any discussions about said night will become all intertwined and hard to follow, that'd suck a bit. But then I don't care cos Adelaide only has 1 worthwhile event/night a month so its not a problem for me.
Plus if you sticky the event thread for each capital, theres gonna be 14x10^73 stickies at the top of the page.
Theres also the chance of not seeing events or whatever if you don't check the thread/don't see it in amongst the other posts.
So in conclusion, I don't fuckin know![]()
As a Sydney poster it doesn't bother me that it's Melbourne specific mostly. Most of the talk about Sydney events happens on Trancetribe anyway.

Go for it, it'll give the promo whores somewhere to spam and keep the main board for giving each other crap, trance is dead threads and paying out everyone else.

i'm just glad every 2nd thread in this place ain't a bday thread. those things annoy me when they get out of hand.
with regards to not seeing an event if it's in an event forum... that's just familiarity. Not hard to find it once you know where it is.
the TOTA structure is pretty neat, they've got the random event sticky that pulls a thread from the event forum too.
if we had an events forum then perhaps it could be opened up for infrequent promoters who just want to come in, post an event, and go out. that would certainly give us some awareness to events/promoters that we're not usually familiar with.
just a thought.

| If theres less event threads discussion about other stuff might pick up to fill the gap. |
but why does a lot of threads about events mean you can't post about other discussion? do you have something you want to discuss right now? make a thread about it!
Exactly. I don't understand the logic in it's relation to the intended outcome. Nothing is stopping anyone posting about anything.
The TA Australia section clearly needs to be broken down city by city, similar to how TA Canada is broken down. Not sure if much would be posted in other cities than Melb apart from glow stick dance tips, but it's only fair they have their sections.
And no, trance in Australia is not dead. In fact a local trance producer was just featured on ASOT.

Urrrr - you make a point. What about 2 TA Australia break down sections then: Melbourne, and um, what would you call it....The Rest.
No no, Melbourne and `SCHAPBD' (Syd/Canbz/Hobz/Adez/Per/Brissy/Darw)
Yeh yeh yeh.
problem solved!

Everybody knows that the decline of Melbourne trance popularity is a direct attribute to the fact that Dave Begic no longer plays trance.
