jeez. thats so fucked up. i was reading it on the news way earlier today and they only had 1 dead and they found a shooter and were lookin for a second. after i read the 32 dead in this thread title i feel like im in disbelief. god whats wrong with this world.

32 people is an INSANE amount of victims for just one gunman.

^ It is....I can't believe the guy had time to shoot so many people. It deff did not sound like an automatic weapon....he had to re-load at some point....unless he was carrying more than one weapon.

I was reading here and on news sites all day about this and I am still as speachless about the event now as I was when I first learned about it. I been moody all day today because of this news. I can add to the topic but I am just too upset and with weight of sadness in my heart for everybody who died or got injured today at that school. My thoughts and preyers to the families & friends of those who died this morning and for full recovery for those who got injured. (I saw my daughter walking out of school smiling looking at me when I picked her up this afternoon and tears just build up in me)

^ I feel yea bro....all I can think about is the victims families and friends. I feel so bad.....this has put me in such a miserable mood all day.

This is horrible... and it's so mind-boggling as to how nobody knows anything still about the details... every story is conflicting with the other

and they said he didn't even say a single word throughout the entire thing... to anyone. how creepy... what a fucking villain. at least he's surely burning in hell at this moment.

given that the killer was pure evil, I think attention should be paid more to honoring the lives lost than villifying the shooter.

As a gun owner, this sort of shit is even worse for us. We still feel the tragedy like everyone else, and at the same time, realize we have to gear up for another debate on gun ownership rights. It's a debate that affects millions of law-abiding citizens who use guns for the reasons that we were raised to use them: hunting (which happens in the UK), target shooting (also in the UK), and self-defense from crazy assholes like this guy.

I've always a safe user of firearms, having spent a great deal of my childhood shooting comptetitively and having spent some of the better times I've had with my father hunting and learning how to shoot. Quite honestly, it's insulting to get grouped in with people like this psycho and the Columbine kids like all gun users are the same, which is exactly the way some people try to make it sound.

By the way, jerZ07002, where'd you get all of your training in constitutional law that you're such an expert on how it's misread?

Sorry to detract from the main issue, the tragic, random loss of life that occurred today, but you're the one who felt the need to drag your politics into the thread.

yea i agree too... its just hard not to be angry over the entire situation. i just wish there were some sort of explanation, i don't understand why someone could do something like this. what goes through a killer's head before and while he does this... how does he justify it??? how is it okay, and how is it something that needs doing to him?? people are just so cruel.

First, because i was at work and didn't hear any of that. I don't like any activism during times like these. Secondly, despite the fact, he's the president and gets the most headlines. His voice is heard the furthest and loudest. Thirdly, i don't agree with him. Lastly, regardless if he was defending a position, he was using a tragedy to promote his position.

the three years i spent in law school, although i didn't concentrate in con law. When i say misreading, i mean by the general population. The language of the 2nd amendment links the right to bear arms with a well regulated militia. Most courts already recognize that the right to bear arms is not an individual right, but a collective right (of the states to an armed militia). I believe, however, the supreme court has yet to rule on that. Unfortunately, the NRA is too powerful and congress will never enact any meaningful control legislation to test the provision. BTW, im not against ownership of shot guns and rifles used for hunting, after an exhaustive background check on the owner. Anyway...stories like this break my heart. Whether one or thirty three, there is almost never a reason to kill another human being. I only hope we as people can change.

what about people who walk around with tons of cash because they deal in a, you know, cash business.
If I were walking around with 10k in my pocket on the way to the bank you bet your ass I would want some sort of a concealed weapon.
