I had to quit my job and drove 11 hours to get to wemf 2001(?) because I promised some friends that I would be there. only to be stuck in line after the OPP shut the event down. 14 hours of line camping I got in and spent the next 8 hours trying to find my friends. 11+14+8= way too much sleep deprivation. I got 5 hours of sleep the last day and then had to drive to Niagara falls. Slept for 3 more hours at a truck stop and then drove back to NYC.

The next year, I booked the time off but drove from NYC to Toronto, picked up two friends. We then decide that we are driving to Montreal to rescue a friend from a job and take him to wemf again (this is the friend I went with the year before). We show up in Montreal and spend the night convincing him to come. I then go and talk to his boss the next day explaining that he is too sick to work and will call in on Monday to see if he's better yet.
We then boot it to WEMF. Get there right as the first stages are gearing up. Party our asses off and then I drive him back to Montreal, and then drive home to NYC.

Every year wemf is the craziest thing I will do for a party. If I'm going I know it will be nuts. I have only had one 'flawless' year at wemf. all the rest have ended up ok but definitely tested me along the way.

My only other crazy night that is close to being on par was taking an over night fishing boat across the Aegean sea to get back to Athens for an event. I woke up in Athens and then spent the day sleeping in some shade by a metro station until 4pm when I checked into a hostel to drop off my bag and then I showered and left for finding food and then the club.

Last year for my bday (after Preach posted in my bday thread in Mtl), booked myself a flight to Amsterdam 28 days in advance for an Awakenings party to see him play for 1.5 hours. He was also nice enough to put me on his VIP and provide me with his cell number incase anything happend and I needed to reach him.

The end part is the reason he deserves the whoring. An amazing DJ with a big heart too.

But I, like Lisa-loo with Ferry, have followed Preach many places. From seeing him here in TO, to driving countless hours back and forth to Montreal to see him and flying overseas twice to see him. It is a continuous thing for me. Damn, I need to make more money.. lol

I knew the prof semi-well and I knew he would not defer it within the exam period, so I asked to have it deferred to the next semester I made up all sorts of excuses but didnt want to flat out say somethign like "oh my friend died" or "something exploded" -- last minute they decided to NOT let me defer it 'cuz I couldnt provide a very good reason

Nine times out of 10 that's how it goes. What fucks me up the most is when they ask how do I know my friends because it's not a quick story like "we met at school."

What also fucks me up is when I am sleep deprived, but I usually rest and somewhat recover before I go back. Only ever got fully pulled over and questioned once. I'll never go through Niagara Falls again lol.

Oh, and another time we drove from TO > DC to see Mauro play there on a Fri night. Never slept, and then got a late start to drive to Montreal to see him at Swirl the next night. It ended up being a 13 hr drive, and we made it in just before he went on at 3am. It was too crazy of a trip. Would never do anything like that again.

Flew to London for their november gategrasher parties - two years in a row. (ok it might have been for thanksgiving break but it was planned around GC)

Preponed my 3 month summer holiday in India by 2 days just so I could make LOL in 2005 ( even cutting a 3 month trip back home by 2 days hurts)

Many many drives from rochester to nyc , dc etc to catch pvd and armin.

Lol, The American border is dangerous territory to cross after a heavy night of partying. Ive been asked all sorts of questions there from � I think someone may have spiked your drinks with MDMA to Why didn�t you carry a change of underwear if you were there for the night (We actually got sent in for questioning because of that)

These aren't nearly as crazy as some of the stories so far...

I told my supervisor I had to get a root canal so I could drive 5 hours to Niagara Falls for Armin @ Dragonfly, then went to NYC after that for 2 Armin 6 hour sets under the Brooklyn Bridge.

I've also driven from Ottawa to Montreal numerous times with random stranger XVI'ers.

I have gotten to be such a pro at crossing the border on no sleep comming home from TO! They really don't give you a hard time unless you look really really sketchy.
