Thanks very much dude, good seeing you out as well and catching up...

Only thing that would have made this night better would have been some Andy Moor vs Markus Schulz at the end of the night. Wouldn't that have been some bonkers... (And I was so tempted to suggest to Markus...)

I must say, last night was the perfect way to end a weekend full of scandalous behaviour and shameful antics...it was calm

I had to rush home at 10 pm to get dressed and eat something quick...managed to make it into the beautiful lounge just before 11 sadly. Was looking forward to catching Nuera's set, but just couldn't make it in time :/ I was absolutely loving Dennis Hahn's stuff..couldn't believe the sexy tracks he was dropping. At first I thought that I wouldn't be able to get into the trance, but once Andy Moor came on, I quickly found my trance groove, surprisingly... Honestly, it felt like my first parties, when I was still digging trance. I felt awkward dancing to trance with house-like movements, but with some snaky hand euphoric movements mixed in, I think it worked.

First time checking out Andy Moor - would never expect to catch him for the first time on a Sunday...but I love the unexpected. His track selection was pretty good; I was in awe whenever he dropped a melodic track with fluffy synthlines. This was the stuff I wanted to hear. Some prog and techier stuff mixed in...liked it as well, but not really my thing. I almost lost it when he played Year Zero...wow...just...wow..fuck! My only complaint was his shrewd mixing. The flow was off, and there were no proper transitions..it was brute and sudden. Kinda lost me a few times because of that...but the tunes made up for it. I REALLY wished Markus would have played b2b with Andy since I missed him the night before, but I guess beggars can't be choosers. There was another track that made my mind float: some trancey remix of Holden & Thompson - Come To Me..I need an ID on this one...the eerie vocals mixed in with trance elements worked so well! <3

I was extremely disappointed that the night ended so early, and even more so disappointed that Aaron Mossey wasn't able to play afterwords. I needed my fixture of electrosexual robotic tuneage!

Great seeing lots of friendly faces on a sunday...and I still feel weird that I fell in love with trance again at a club...Keep this on the downlow...it could ruin my sleazy image

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!!
what a great weekend, but Sunday night was a total treat...

ok, so Andy had some trouble with the mixing at some points, but overall, it was my favourite live set in recent memory:

- the crowd: people who know their shit, are there to have a good time, to dance, to chill, etc... none of the guv/KH crap. And the cameo by Markus was very cool.

- the tunage!!!!! great warmup set by hahn, and then Andy just played everything Armin and Schulz DIDN'T play on saturday. Some faves of the night that weren't mentioned yet: Angelicus, Make U Mine, The Truth, Air for Life

- Andy's antics in the booth... I was just having a conversation earlier on sunday about how it seems good sets go hand in hand with the dj having fun up there. Andy kept me chuckling throughout the night, with the lime-wedge eyebrows, drinking thru his nose, taking ppl's sunglasses/hats, etc.

on top of all that, the cheap cover! I really hope for more parties like that... having only moved to Toronto a few months ago, a party like last night is really getting me excited for the summer

P.S. btw, I was the guy going nuts on the dancefloor up by the speakers, dark blue short-sleeve polo shirt... I met a couple of people on here years ago back at that amazing Airwave weekend, and I hope to be getting into the scene more and chilling with you guys!

WoW...OMG11!!!
What an AMAZING night...
I can't stop smiling...From the Music, to the Vibe, to the friendly faces and hugs...my weekend would not have been complete without it.

Cribby I know exactly what you mean...

Dancing with you is always a blast and I can never stop smiling, but dancing with you to trance...just tops it all off.

I'm happy...that is all.

Great seeing so many TA's out...makes me remember why i<3trance. Totally brings people together...<3

likewise bro.

having such a small party reminds me of good ol' viva days when TAs would take control of front+center (shutting out all sketchy asians, haha) Good times!

Fair enough... I'll give you that

lol Mahan, you are pretty much spot on about Andy Moor's technical skills. It's more of what you prefer in terms of mixing skills too.
If you do let the song run out almost and the bassline becomes more weaker, when you do slam in the bassline from the next tune, it can get quite the crowd going. Kinda like the lull in the storm effect. Some don't like that bit of a lull between transitions.
Though personally, while I don't like that lull effect in transition for most part, i thought it suited Andy's style of tunes.

But yeah. Few points in his set it didn't work out. You can see it on Andy's expression also.

Wow do I ever feel like an ass for missing this. I was soo pumped to go back in March before he cancelled and I was way too broke this weekend to do anything but the Hostel.......dammit.......kicking myself for missing this one.....

yea, the 'lull effect' worked a couple times, and it sounded good... but when there is a 30-60sec gap of just bass drum between almost every track it not only gets old, but totally ruins the flow of the set... and imo a world class international dj should do better.

If the programming and mixing of the night was better, i think I would have been one of the many people here going crazy over how great the night was.

i forget to also mention the opening dj. first time i heard you but you played exactly my style. hope to see you playing again.

i asked markus when i spoke to him. but he said he was just here to have some fun and listen to a few tunes.

on another note, i want to say that at one point during the set when markus came up front, the crowd started chanting "markus, markus". imo, that was very rude, disrespectful and defintely not necessary. if u need to tell him how much he rocks or w/e, do it in private especially in a setting like last night where you were open to do so. it really suprised me as there was a discussion about this sort of thing that happened during blake jarrell's set on saturday. hopefully it wasnt started by TAs.

Posted by PurpleHaze on Apr-24-2007 03:44:

awesome pics! im so glad i went up there to grab a pic with them while they were both up behind the booth

too bad i look liked a fucktard in it lol
