lyss, don't really remember the actual size of axis couldn't be very big though because when i went to avalon for markus back in september it was kinda empty so i would assume they would book him for a smaller space

it says in the article that axis's capacity is 1200 but im assuming they mean the whole building (including ID upstairs) not just where the house djs are primarily booked downstairs.

Seeing PVD at Avalon back in '99, and watching him work the tables from over his shoulder... feeling the energy in that place on that night... the bubbles... the Gnome... it was incredible...
That one night is was cemented this music in my life... I'll never forget it. Good luck w/ whatever happens up there.

You missed El Jeffe dancing in Rise friday lol. Thats one memory I will never forget hahahaha

You were right about Carl Craig. That was definitely the best night in Boston thus far in 07

I sincerely dislike those clubs in boston, so I think ANY change would be an improvement.

thats pretty cool. who u going with?

u know, even if avalon or axis is small now, i still wouldn't mind going one more time...esp since they are gonna renovate both clubs.

ive never had trouble with the crowd at all.

my main memory regarding Avalon wasn't even a memory i had WHEN i was at a show (Tiesto 2004) although i def had fun cuz he was premiering his album "Just Be" - yes i used to <3 "LOVE COMES AGAIN" ahahha it was more like I went to Dumonde at Shelter NYC a month later and this NYTA practically leaps in front of me and goes..."Were you AT Tiesto at AVALON a month ago? I was there and I saw you in the bathroom!!!!" (lazy chick) lolz. then we're like talking for the next 30 minutes nonstop or so, and then she pointed out her other friends to me (liz, al and bigmike). its still a memory i treasure though since shes one of my cherished friends now <3

lol I was at that show lyss!! weird!

this should be good for boston. Avalon is horridly setup, People love to walk around between the two bars all night long especially when its crowded. I really think if it's done correctly this could be sick. Maybe throw a little outdoor pavilion ontop, that would be sick for summer events.

Posted by GUBostonDubs on Apr-26-2007 18:10:

I've been told information from my friend who works for the Lyons Group that they will only have big name djs for certain special events. This confirmed what I feared. It's not going to be the same and the clubnights are not the priority anymore....

wow

that was a good show imo

even tho i was a TA member starting July 2003, it was in name only until i ran into Jen at Dumonde. so that show and time def holds significance for me.

As long as they're still able to book DJs at this new place, I'll be satisfied.
