They're only hot because they haven't played Buffalo since December

SO glad Ottawa won that game. Their 2nd period play was absolutely terible and they are lucky they held on too the victory. They have at least proved that they get the puck past Brodeur, which was the only concern I had. Go Sens!

lol...they're playing great, defensively, anyways. Our power play is shit; we have more shots on the PK than the PP! They've been killing us in the neutral zone.

I seriously hope we turn it around at home on Friday. It's time to get back to square one. At least we have Ryan Miller and good defense.

So did the sabres get robbed lastnight on that goal or what? They didn't start to play until the rangers scored goal #2. It is amazing to see the sabres when they decide to play.

Fri. night, the Rangers are going to get creamed.

I'm sure you'll clean 'em up in games 5 and 6

Another win for the Sens

Been loving the Sharks/Wings series. Very intense games, glad the Sharks are putting up such a fight against Detroit. I thought Detroit would powerhouse thru them, but it doesn't seem like that will happen. NY giving Buffalo a run for their money is awesome. I still think Buffalo will take the series BUT an NY upset would be interesting.

margin of error is so small in the playoffs right now. No more blowout games.

Nice to have Detroit come back, for my pool and b/c I don't like San Jose (namely Thorton). I just need Buffalo, Ottawa, Detroit and Anaheim to win to be 11-1 in the pool and to stay in first, though I personally want Van, Ottawa, NYR, and Detroit to move on.

Go Sens! Knew they would end it tonight. Only got to catch the 2nd period, and I guess that's all I needed to see. The Canucks put up a fight, but the Ducks were bound to take that series. Good win by Detroit today, pretty sure they will beat out San Jose.

this game (buffalo/new york) is MADNESS right now.

3 goals scored in the first 5 minutes of the 2nd period.

and jeff is now a perfect three for three this round, guessing the right length of series in two of them.... just need san jose to turn it around tomorrow night.

As much as I think Anaheim is going to pound the life out of Detroit, I hope Detroit wins, so I don't have to stay up until 2am to watch games in the finals. If not, hopefully some of those gaems fall on the weekend to alleviate.

And Ottawa scares me. I'd like to say if we beat them last year, we can take them this year, but they aren't wavering on the Hasek balance-beam that they were last year, and they're playing great.

Fortunately, Buffalo matches up well, and if we beat them, we'll have everyone in NHL-land pulling for us, because we'll have played the hockey that everyone knows we can and wants to see us play.

i predict a great hockey series between ottawa and buffalo. great hockey skills on both teams. exciting!!

Round 2 predictions:
quote:

Jersey - Ottawa: Ottawa in 6

Buffalo - Rangers: Buffalo in 6

Detroit - San Jose: Detroit in 7

Anaheim - Vancouver: Anaheim in 5

So here we go, Conference finals:

Buffalo - Ottawa: Buffalo in 7
DAMN i wish i could watch these games
Guaranteed a great series with a little bit of everything - scoring, great skating, hitting, goaltending, and bad blood..EVERYTHING the NHL wants
As well as Ottawa's defence is and has been playing, i just think Buffalo's depth on offence will BARELY be enough...
especially in Game 7 IN Buffalo.
You got this one DigMP

Detroit - Anaheim: Anaheim in 6
Schneider's broken wrist is a huge loss obv.
Along with Anaheim having a great season, they've also got experience having been here last yr...PLUS now they've added Pronger.
Too strong on D for the Wings

Posted by DigitalMP on May-08-2007 15:33:

So, at the risk of boring people with my pool, since I get bored at hearing of others' pools...

I'm in the final round to defend my title. The first round was round one, the second round two, and the third is the conf finals and cup finals. Whomever is remaining on your team is yours for the finals, plus whoever you pick up in the four-round supplemental draft (1G, 1D, 2F). If one team has more forwards than you, they drop their lowest when stat-tally time arrives.

My roster:
----------
Zetterberg C DET
Vanek LW BUF

Beauchemin D ANA

Giguere G ANH

My opponent's:
--------------
Briere C BUF
Heatley RW OTT
Selanne RW ANA

Niedermayer D ANA

Since he picks first, he almost has to take Hasek, to prevent me a guaranteed goalie in the finals. If he does that, I'll save my goalie pick until the final round, and grab Miller. I have errant thoughts of taking Miller anyways, hoping for BUF-ANA finals.

I'll pick Pronger first (Lidstrom if he takes Pronger), then Drury (Datsyuk if he takes him), then Spezza.
