Stereohead, did you ever heard about: when you have alot of income you need expenses? You want to give it to the gouverment or invest it on your club?

I think the answer is simple

Tribe works well on every nights they run and probably budget on a weekly or monthly basis....not nightly like some promoters or events organizers will do!

+ Guys behind Tribe probably must have an other huge venue they're running somewhere else in North America giving them a bigger booking power.

So of course, artists will refuse other offers at other venues knowing that they have many very well paid garantied gigs for one particular clubs owner

I know when u have income u need expenses...of course the government will come after u if you have no answer to give them when they ask where it's all coming from or what your investment is. I said it's to the partying public's benefit that this person decided to use this income by running a club that gets huge DJs.

Tribe works well on every night...yes I will give you that. U go on a Friday night and it's Top 40 music playing tho...VERY different crowd, vibe, etc from Thursdays. Saturdays I've never really been. So the fact that the club's working on different nights is a sign of a successful business...Attracting different age groups, different tastes, etc...As for budgeting, I know NOTHING about the way a club's money works, besides the obvious things...Like the insane amounts the international DJs that play at Tribe get.

An investment elsewhere in the continent is an obvious factor to consider. Good for them dude, seriously...

And I know that Tribe's regular international DJs (ie Lawler) won't play anywhere else in this city besides Tribe or Circus because he is 'treated' with such hospitality and respect and he has such an awesome time every time he comes here to play...blah blah blah blah...Oh Tribe treats him well alright...They PAY him well which is, as you stated, the reason why huge international DJs would indeed refuse a gig elsewhere in this city besides for THAT particular club owner who treats him so well.

...

Basically dude, I'm totally aggreeing with everything you just said, and especially your last paragraph about DJs refusing to play elsewhere really mirrors what my point was in the first place when I first posted: It's a sad fact about the scene but money talks and dictates alot of what happens to it.

Yay Tribe I love that fkn club dude come on....Like I said, all the more power to them for accomplishing all that they are, seriously

When was that?

I remember a night in, oh, 2003 perhaps, where I left Stereo at 12:45pm and things were still going. In fact, he was playing his remix of Deeper Water, which is class. There was a lot of good stuff played that night, including Roland K's Bounce & @, which is one of the best tunes of all time, imo.

Of course, he played his hideous Trousersnake remix a couple of times that night, so it wasn't all good.
