Re: what's a facestand?

And you guys just thought high heels where invented to make short girls tall!

The stiletto, a womans all purpose tool.

Girls don't necessarily need high heels/stiletto's to be a bit taller.

My gf wears shoes like this:

and this:

Coolest shoes ever. I'm tall, and hit my head on enough stuff already, so I can't really go for this stuff. Sadly

Posted by Frenchie on Apr-29-2007 07:07:

ew. Ugliest shoes ever. Well maybe there they're nice but here they are mainly worn by gothic, death metal, look at me and I'll cut you, people.

I've got a pair of 20hole patents which have about 3" heels, they're more or less as high as I want to go without snapping off an ankle in terms of boots and shoes, plus couple of others with about 5" heel but not so much under the toe.

Bel's not gothic or death metal, and if she ever cut you, she would be the first person to run and get you some antiseptic and a band-aid

Think of it as a more manga/Japanese type style. Seriously, it looks so damn funky! Not as 'hardcore' looking as you seem to be thinking.

Posted by Frenchie on Apr-29-2007 07:44:

ah I see the style in my head now..

And with a name like Bel...well...seems like a doll.

Posted by Lilith on Apr-29-2007 07:46:

Why the hating on goth girls?

Sound like pretty cool shoes. Are patents mega uncomfortable? It's like leather that doesn't 'give' or stretch at all right? And 20 hole? Far out. Do you actually wear them much? It seems kind of hard to ninja them into an everyday kind of...outfit?

Are you a goth Lilith?

Posted by Frenchie on Apr-29-2007 07:51:

lol. I don't hate. Just what we have here, or more like what I have come across, are un-friendly goth people.

NO! Goths are generally very friendly! I used to live with a couple of goths, and I swear that they were the best flatmates I ever had. Awesome poeple. And their parties are amazing, I had so much fun.

They're fine as far as comfort goes, much the same as a pair of docs, but no, I don't tend to wear them much any more.

Quite possibly I am...
Either that or some kind of 80's tragic with too many Sisters of Mercy and Fields of the Nephilim records.

Lol.

I will always hold my goth flatmates in high esteem for introducing me to Dead Can Dance. Apparently, any goth worth their trench coat will know Dead Can Dance.

And then I was re-introduced to them by my gf

Such awesome music.

The lead singer Lisa Gerrard went on to do all sorts of stuff after DCD, most people would know her from the Gladiator soundtrack, she's Australian too! You should be proud
