| Originally posted by Sushipunk You should push the envelope jdat. Try grabbing a glass of wine at, say...midday. If it doesn't phase them, have a beer immediately afterwards. Make a game out of it. See what you can get away with before you get told off |

i'm a legal assistant now and it's good as far as salary and benefits goes for someone in their 20's without a degree yet, but i don't want it as a career. law school for me in the next 4 years lol. taking my sweet ass time but better late than never.
and while i'm on the topic of my job, i just want to say that both of my bosses are quite possibly the most pathetic, miserable phonies i've ever met. and i notice it's a pattern with attorneys who do any sort of PI or insurance defense work. it fucking sucks!! it's the worst kind of law to get into, i wouldn't practice PI work if someone put a gun to my head. i need to find a new job where the work is at least interesting and the clients have an IQ over 10.

yea they are literally crooks, and so are all of the doctors we deal with. if a final report on our client doesn't have a big enough impairment rating, my boss gets on the phone with them and gets them to change the report (for more $). it's fucking sickening. i have zero respect for PI/Ins. defense doctors/surgeons. they're whores.
im a high end developer. Not one of the coding monkeys

Oh and dont get me wrong, my bosses definitely have their cool moments. They hook me up with little bonuses here and there when I get a bunch of demands out or bust my ass, and one of them has really wacky humor and we share a few laughs here and there, but I still have like no respect for them.
One of them is a total anal retentive bastard with napolian complex, so he gets real sarcastic and moody and we have big fights because I dont put up with his shit. I slammed the phone down on him one time and he told me to leave, so I did, and about 30 minutes later, he called me to apologize and asked me to come back, bla bla bla. lol drama! Its been pretty calm though lately and we sort of worked out our differences, but I still cant stand him and I want to work at a bigger firm that does real estate law or corp. litigation...way more interesting.
Oh and my boss just complimented me on getting out 10 demands in 3 days. I smell a bonus!! Or at least I hope. Cross your fingers
