actually telus and bell also has TDMA. Its all the older phones used to run on TDMA, even telus has had its fair share of converting people over to CDMA.Mostly just analog areas or phones.

Wierd thing with this entire process is for my brother he bought a pay as you go through Virgin Mobile, I'm guessing TDMA, but he would top it up and then one day he was sent information with his cell (his num changed) and was told his phone wouldn't work, he'd now need to upgrade. We were totally confused as to whether or not to call Rogers or Virgin b/c both companies would say we'd deal with the other one. Eventually my brother talked to Rogers (his num was switched to a new rogers one mostly b/c of the Gsm switch) and they sent him another phone.

thats correct.

the only GSM providers in Canada are Rogers & Fido.. which happen to be the same company

ya i told them that but they said id have to pay full price for the phone with contract renewal it would be much much less but at the cost of renewing the contract
