Dang I feel aweful about the baby, but about the parents too, if they werent aware and were only uneducated and ignorant i dont think they deserve life sentence. Simple people are like that, i would have to whatch a tape of the court progress and see their faces to decide if it was done on purpose.

edit: yeh i read what you guys stated, but some things can never be proved to the fullest unless someone admits.

This vegan shit is completely irrelevant. Any baby younger than 6 months needs nothing other than a substantial amount of milk to survive, and be healthy. The key word being substantial.

This is obviously a case of deliberately underfeeding the child, which in no way has anything to do with the parents being vegan.

It is VERY common for babies to get no other food in their diet other than formula or milk for the first 6 months... what else can you feed them really?

How they related veganism to the death is beyond me.

What makes them morons?

I mean, just because a person chooses not to add meat into their diet doesn't make them less intelligent than someone else. Vegans for the most part eat a lot healthier than most carnivores, simply because they can't have the additives like milk and eggs that are in a lot of the garbage food we eat.

I don't know, if you are careful and you make sure to supplement the vitamins you would normally get from meat, then I think it is totally cool.

Everything that your body intakes food wise is needed for you, most in moderation but still needed.

Meh, the way the news articles are covering it, it makes it seem like veganism is the cause of it, when really that wasn't the case. These people are being labelled "VEGANS" and "MURDERERS" in the same context just to over-sensationalize something that doesn't even exist, and get all the meat eating people (mostly everyone) to get up on their self-righteous pedastels and point the finger.

If the news was covering it PROPERLY (fat chance), they would state clearly that the parents tried to use their vegan diet as an excuse of the child being underfed.

I just simply disagree with people attacking a personal choice and using it as leverage toward something that has absolutely nothing to do with the subject matter... same as I feel about race, sex, orientation etc.

SOOOOOO many people do it, and it frusterates me to no end. It bugs me even more that our media supports this stupid behaviour, and people wonder why there is so much intolerance.

No where in that article does it say "the parents who underfed the child accused the vegan diet for being the cause of the baby's death".

Nope. Instead it pretty much leads the reader to believe that the vegan diet was the CAUSE of it.

AKA over-sensationalized bullshit hype... just like pretty much every other news story out there.
