Be nice to your local bathroom attendant!

They provide a service for you and the clubs... Just think, you forgot to put on deoderant... or you want a piece of gum... or you just met this girl and u wanna smell nice for her... or whatever. The bathroom attendants are there with everything you need.

And get it through your heads that you don't have to always tip them. If you're not using their stuff you don't have to give them money.

It's like thinking you have to give money to a homeless person every time you see one... It's just not possible. But if you have the extra change, why not.

And if you're really nice to them, as in get to know their names and actually talk to them every now and then, they give you free stuff. And by stuff i mean "stuff"!

Yes, the bathrooms are frequently maintained like this on Mars. If any of the bathroom attendants on Earth clean up puke and poo, they probably work in the bathrooms of billionaire mansions.

bathroom attendants also wash the bathroom????? maybe the sink area but i dont think they wash n e thing else.....

i think they would be 100 times more useful if their job was to clean the bathroom.... but then they woul just be a janitor

Posted by monishb on May-06-2007 15:58:

totally pointless to have them there

Call me cheap if you want, but I rarely tip them. I see no reason whatsoever that I should give my money to these individuals. When I pay for something, I expect something in return. I don't get anything in return when I tip a bathroom attendant.

oh please
everything they have there smells of a cheap air freshener

they sell a piece of gum for $2! like wtf honestly.. I once bought some gum from an attendant in Viva, and then forgot I wanted to use some hairspray she had there - she told I HAVE to tip her again

the dude who used to work in the CZ bathroom was so nice

now there some new guy i dont like him at all

Posted by malek on May-06-2007 19:33:

I hate it when they take all the paper from the paper dispensing machine and expect us to tip them after taking some from them.

Its like they take the paper hostage

Big FU, I wash my hand and don't dry them thats all.

I tip out of guilt (I'm a sucker, I know), but always before I wash my hands MWAHAHAH

*wondering if bathroom attendants tip other bathroom attendants when THEY go out ????*

Posted by PurpleHaze on May-06-2007 19:48:

I tip according to their attitude/personality. In purple room I ALWAYS tip him $1-2 everytime I go in...he's an awesome guy, always gives me gum and a squirt of good cologne, we both chat since we've seen each other so often now.

I tip really generously everywhere I go (depending on quality of service of course), don't know why I'm just nice I guess. Money is money, comes and goes...

And, by the messy state of a number of bathrooms I've been into that have also had bathroom attendants, it makes me wonder - do they really keep it that much cleaner?

the ones at london clean the floors continuously throughout the night. in the stalls to.

I've seen the guy at footwork mop the floors and clean up overflowed toilets...

I just don't like aggressive attendants that try and pressure you into giving them money

There's a bathroom attendant in the guys washroom at purple room?!?!?

I have NEVER seen anyone in the womens.

WTF?!

Anyway, in Mexico, they had attendants, but these attendants would run into the stall after someone went in, they would sweep up whatever was around, and then spray the seat with some cleaner and wipe it down. The bathrooms there were in an impecible condition. I actually felt happy to go to the washrooms there. They didn't have gum and shit I don't think, (maybe they did... I was so hammered the entire time, I may have missed it), but I distinctly remember them being crazy clean.

I will certainly pay for extra cleanliness. If you have to do the crappy job of cleaning a toilet before I go to the bathroom, which makes me feel 40598045896 X better, then I will by all means give a few dollars.

BUT, I refuse to tip someone for handing me a paper towel. First of all, I am a clean nazi... I don't like that your dirty bathroom hands have already been all over my paper towel. Second of all, if you would put it into the dispenser where it belongs, I would be able to get it myself guilt free.

Gum, perfume, etc. etc. I will tip, but I RARELY if ever use them.

IMO, if a club wants to make their customers happy, they will pay their attendants to clean the stalls throughout the night.

The problem is, the club knows that the people will keep coming back whether the bathroom sucks or not, so they don't care to make it a nicer experience if it is going to cost them money.

If they hand me a paper towel, I don't tip. I would gladly get a paper towel myself.

But if I were going to use a piece of gum, hair tie or something (which I don't think I ever have), I would tip a buck or two. Most of the attendants said that they don't get paid by the clubs - they buy the things they have in the bathroom theirselves (p.s. why does Firefox say that word is spelled wrong?) and only make money through tips. It's a shitty way to live, but it's better than nothing. So if I were to take something they have out there, I'd tip.

But as far as a simple paper towel goes...no. The club has provided those for its patrons.

After tearing up the dancefloor for 2 hrs Im glad they have an attendant there with a spray of cologne. And maybe a much needed piece of gum. However, I will not tip for a paper towel. Why do I feel bad when i dont tip them? Its a paper towel FFS!

You are looking for themselves.

Gotta love the English prescriptivists who don't even bother to do their research. It's in the dictionary and has been for a few hundred years. I notice he's also got a page dedicated to the use of the word "impact" as a verb, decrying it as pretentious business jargon and apparently not realizing that the word was in use as a verb for nearly 200 years before it was ever used as a noun.

Granted, "theirselves" is not in common use, and I wouldn't use it in an important report precisely because I wouldn't want people reading it and thinking to themselves, "is that even a word?" But really, if you're going to criticize, do your own homework first, and try to make sure your information is coming from a reputable source.
